Article in the Chattanooga Times about him today. Says he has 27 offers now, 12 of the 14 SEC schools have offered. Florida coaches were on campus Monday and USC assistant Tee Martin last week. No indication on any leaders or when he might commit. This is the same writer who proclaimed him a Tennessee lock at the beginning of the year.

Read on tos that he said Ohio State leads.

Link? Or could you have confused Bell saying OSU leads with Bell saying it was his best---10 schools visit over the past couple of months?

This from a 247 article approx 10 days back...
BUCKEYES IMPRESS VONN BELL: 4-star safety Vonn Bell from Rossville in Ridgeland, Ga., visited more than 10 schools over the past couple of months including Auburn on Feb. 25. But a recent trip to Ohio State stood out the most to Bell, who doesn’t have a timeframe for a decision.

“Ohio State was my favorite visit,” Bell told 247Sports. “I really liked the people. They separated themselves from everyone else. I liked the coaches and the players I met at the position meetings. It was a great experience.”

Vols (still) lead, IMO

Gotta think Vonn wants to play in the real league (SEC).

It was posted on volquest in the gq forum. It said , something like ..."Sucks but Vonn Bell named Ohio State his leader". I wanted to see what the posters here had to say about it. I wasn't sure if the poster was serious or trying to troll the board. Other posters here said the same. Maybe that poster got confused by his words and thought that. From everything else I have read about him , it seems we are in great shape with Bell.

Lance Thompson visited with Bell at school last week and spent time with his mother as well. He visited Bama this Spring and plans on going again but he's not sure when he will make it back.

Article on Bell......from the Bama perspective:

With the spring evaluation period underway from college football assistant coaches, the University of Alabama staff hit the road hard last week.

One of the first stop's was to Ridgeland High School (Rossville, Ga.) to check in with one of the nation's top safeties, Vonn Bell. Bell is a top target for the Crimson Tide in every sense. He is a great player, student and person.

"We haven't narrowed down the search yet, just putting together the pros and cons," Bell said. "I'm going to think about it real hard after my spring practice and then focus on it then."

"He is the best tackler I've had as a secondary player. We use him to walk him down in the box in heavy run support. That's such a vital skill set. He had five interceptions, so he's a great cover guy too. Combined that makes him a unique animal."

my bad, honestly didn't even realize it was a rivals article. Picked it up from another site, unrelated to rivals. Still kinda new at this whole interwebs thing.

Maybe, but its just been awhile.

I get ya, but we've seen and heard alot of those insecurities the past few years with the same highly ranked guys we signed, i.e A.J. Johnson, Tiny Richardson, LaDarrell McNeil.

Granted we have lost some folks, but who doesn't.

I definitly believe we are on the up and up, and given an 8 or 9 win season, I do think we see some of those top caliber guys sign with us. I have a feeling those insecurities will still hang around our fan base no matter what.

True, some folks will be butt hurt no matter what.

That said, my opinion has been all along that our performance on the field this season will determine our recruiting class. Forget about anything else that has happened before this year, this is the benchmark for Tennessee Football going forward.

I am cautiously optimistic at this point.

....btw, my expectations for this year is 9 wins.

He actually said in the recent article that he plans on returning to UA again but not saying when. that he would keep everything close to the vest at this point regarding all his recruiting.

After spring practice he said he would have a list narrowed down to 5 or 6 schools, but the process owuld continue very methodical to make sure he makes the best decision and did not give any timeline.

His mother came with him and his last visit to UA and left very impressed and really likes Saban.

Also someone earlier mentioned him being high on OSU but the article he seemed higher on his Texas visit than OSU. Others schools mentioned in the article regarding recruiting and visits besides UA were Texas, Okie State, OSU, Ark, and Notre Dame.
