Pssh.. I've only busted your chops about Charlie High to this point as far as I can remember haha. You wouldn't guarantee on that but you're guaranteeing on Bell. That's pretty ballsy. Yeah we are rumored to lead but it's June and if we lose games he could easily go somewhere else.... Ohio State has a good shot at him I think. We shall see.

Here is some new info on Bell from an OSU site (elevenwarriors.com) posted today after his OSU visit/camp:

Vonn Bell with 2 picks, several breakups in 1on1s, Bell and Darron Lee tearing up drills. Bell has the best feet seen here. Lee not far behind

Vonn Bell will not camp anywhere else

Vonn dominated camp but refused to name any leaders. He says distance will not be a factor. Vonn discussed dominating camp and then battling Darron Lee at the coaches' request. He refused to name leaders but says that is coming soon.

I put the "if we win" qualification on it. Anything could happen if we have to make a coaching change.

Let's just say people VERY close to him would have to be lying to everyone for him not to be a Vol. Barring a coaching change, as I said.

I think if we have a successful season it makes it much harder for everyone to negative recruit on us, which hurt us a little bit last year. I think OSU has a solid shot no matter what happens though. You will always hear rumors from "people close to the situation" but alot of times you have to take that with a grain of salt. Signing day is 8 months away. Think about that.

Winning solves alot of problems.

Kingston Vol if you get this one wrong too I'm going to start hounding you like I did with OCIVol. Just sayin.

**I think we land Bell also but I won't guarantee it with U. Meyer trolling around his recruitment. We need to produce on the field otherwise he's going to hear the same things that flipped Otha Peters.

Why would you believe a 17 year old kid on recruiting info anyways?

For the life of me I don't understand why anyone would buy Meyers BS... The man is a complete POS....

I realize most high school age people, despite what their GPA might say, are not nearly as as smart as they think they are.. You would think mom and/or dad would step in with a little seasoned common sense and reason...

Maybe I have wrongly assumed most parents are smarter than their kids...

Why is a kid not smart because he wants to play for Meyer and Ohio State? Meyer's won big wherever he's been and Ohio State is a very attractive program. Tennessee will be just as attractive when we start winning again, but as of right now Ohio State is a much more attractive place. The good news is National Signing Day isn't right now.

Wasn't my intention to compare the two programs or Meyers coaching ability.. Also, I was NOT questioning a high schoolers inteligence for picking one program over another.. I was questioning their inteligence, or anyones for that matter, for believing Meyer... My fault for not making that more clear..

You are right about Meyer winning big wherever he has been but he seems to leave wreckage behind and tends to accept no responsibility for it either...

One more thing, have you ever raised kids? If you have then you know all to well that just because they have become young adults it doesn't suddenly make the wiser to 'the ways of the world'... They think they are and they will tell you they are, but they aren't..

Common sense = NFL Players/NCAA Championships I don't have a problem with Urban. Plays my style of aggressive football.

A talent like Bell who is getting all the attention from Myers, Saban, Richt, etc would be crazy not to take it all in and enjoy. BUT in the end (like many) having the family close enough to come see him play every week is a Mom and Dad "thing" that fortunately a 17 yr old does usually value. Does UT rate up there as TOSU, Bama, UGA ? Probably not, but I do believe we're in it until the end and as many are saying it will probably come down to having a good 8-10 win season with some upsets.
If Bell is as good as "billed" his goals are to play on Sunday which I think the Vols can show him that we are as good as anyone at putting talent in tha NFL. But his other goal wud be competing for SEC Champ, BCS, and NC every year. That's where he really has to decide if "rebuilding" vs having that opportunity annually at another program will make it a tough decison. (even that one is tough to overcome for the parents).

He was #1 (out of 400) in the top 10 at OSU's camp...

1. DB VONN BELL, ROSSVILLE (GA.) RIDGELAND
Bell showed everyone in attendance on Sunday why he is such a heavily recruited prospect. Bell moved effortlessly through the drills, making each one look easy while going through them faster than the other campers. Bell continued his dominance in 1-on-1's with a pair of interceptions and a pair of touchdowns at wide receiver. Just an overall outstanding performance for one of the nation's top safeties.

haha, its just his opinion. I don't listen to him about recruiting at all. In fact there's really noone on this board that I would specifically listen to unless they are just passing info on from someone else who is legit.

skeeter is okay sometimes and jmoore is good with copy/paste info. i4jay is a good poster and there are a few others... otherwise I would take everything else with a grain of salt. I will put my track record up against anyone on here. I find it a compliment that all anyone has on me still to this day is getting Juwan James wrong in 2009 lol.

You said if he "gets this wrong" you're gonna "hound him like you did OCI"..... My point is... Don't put too much stock into an anonymous teenager's opinion on where a kid is going to commit..

To be fair, you really don't have a track record. Neither good nor bad - you just don't have one. You've predicted very little. You repeat a lot of what OCI says and pass along a ton of info from the recruiting sites. Nothing wrong with it, but stop tooting your horn over something you haven't done, "scout."

The only thing I remember him predicting (obnoxiously and repeatedly) was JuWuan James. That one didn't go so well for him.
