I wouldn't be surprised that after VB announces Skeet will come on here and tell us that VB has been a "silent" to the coaches for quite some time.

Rumors have circulated that five-star safety prospect Vonn Bell would be pulling the trigger on a commitment next week, but Bell said on Wednesday evening and dispelled that rumor immediately. As Bell told FOX Sports NEXT national analyst Chad Simmons, he will be narrowing his list to three schools next week, which will certainly include the Vols and Ohio State. Bell told Simmons that the third school could surprise a lot of people.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety never said much about a commitment timeline once he narrowed his list down early in the summer, but he touched on that his interview with Simmons.
"I really see myself committing around the middle of the season," Bell told FOX Sports NEXT. "I want to watch how teams play early in the year, see who plays well, how the players play, how the coaches coach, and just watch schools play for a little bit. I will take some visits and just see how things go for a month or two before I do anything."

Goes right along w/ what the VQ guys have been saying all along. If Tennessee comes out & takes care of business then Bell is a Vol, if not he's likely a Buckeye.

Pretty much sums it up.

Translation: "If Tennessee stinks it up again this fall, I'm going elsewhere."

I'm itching to find out who this "surprising" third school is...

I hope it's someone outlandishly shocking, like Austin Peay. Now that would have me surprised.

Possibly but recruits aren't gonna start doubting Meyer after a 7-5 type season.

I agree, but my image of Meyer has changed significantly. I understand he had health issues, and he left UF. But, what makes him think he's going to last at tOSU? His expectations are going to be just as high, if not higher, at tOSU given his track record as a coach, and his only real competition in the conference is UM, and maybe MSU.

tOSU and UM expect to win the conference every year.

I would say this would also be the case with some players that aren't really considering UT that much at the moment. We may find that if all goes well we may be in it for some bigger players.

A third school that could surprise some people??:ermm: Oh sheesh!! Watch it be Vandy!!:eek:lol:

Urban Meyer has proven plenty.

Not attacking you by any means, but what has Urban Meyer proven. The only thing he has proven to me is that he can win at Utah with a Great "college QB and a decent NFL QB in an extremely easy conference, and can't win at Florida without Tim Tebow. With Smith at Utah he had the number 1 overall pick in a really bad conference and he only won at Florida with probably the greatest "college" QB to ever play. So tell me what has he proven?
