True, not every kid gets paid but all schools push on some kids. Some kids don't even know they are getting pimped (see Albert Means). A HS coach, handler, rogue uncle, trainers, etc could be on the take. Very few people offer help in these situations without wanting or getting something in return. Unfortunately, the ones who are doing it for the true benefit of the kid get lumped with the rest.

Scott has narrowed down to 12 schools. In no order, Oklahoma, Oregon, Ohio st, Georgia, Nebraska, USC, Texas,Arkansas, ole miss, Hawaii, Lsu, Arizona st. Expected decision in March.

He had one too many stars for Tennessee to be in the mix...

I know right, he says he wants to be closer to home yet... Georgia, Ohio St., LSU, Ole Miss, Texas, Arkansas on list.

I truly believe that he felt he folded too soon. He knew he wasn't going to beat out Dobbs. He believed he could beat out other candidates THIS YEAR. If that proves incorrect, he gave it every effort. It's a matter of he wanted the job here MORE. If he hadn't felt confident he'd have stayed. Doesn't mean he'll be content to sit as a backup when he has other options. Would love it if everybody stayed and made our depth chart perfect and secure...just don't see it happening.

which is why I said position change. not being afraid of competition he might be willing to try it out. especially with the success of that QB turned WR we have on the field.

I'm not going to pretend to know what's in a kid's head or what he's willing to do. I just think he's too good a QB to give up that dream. Jennings was always more an athlete learning to play QB. Sheriron has been an athletic quarterback his whole career. I don't see as easy a translation...or a need.

Yeah it was a little dickish I admit, just because I knew that USC wasn't really a consideration from before the time he posted, BUT obvi he didn't know that.

I think the reason the poster said that was because it was speculated he wanted to get closer to home. Obviously SC is much closer to home.

Hey butchna I've got a fam membe a UT that told me he came back (Jones) because he found out he was going to be a dad and wanted to be here for his kid, now I haven't had anyone confirm this for me, but if that is the case he may take a position change to stay around and help the team.

Talking about Sheriron Jones. Heard that previously and can see the reasoning but doesn't change my personal opinion that he'll try to achieve his personal goals AND get the education that will allow him to make his child's life better. Guess we'll see.
