13 MD WR Paul Harris (UT commit 7/17/12)

Mr.Harris, if you read this crap, I want you to know when you chose Tennessee, you made the right choice, wlecome to Rocky Top, come here do what you are supposed to do as a student/citizen you will be loved, do what you are supposed to do as an athlete football player plus the other 2 you will be a god. GO VOLS

Yea this isn't weird...

"I know a lot of people are going to be shocked, and I know a lot of people may look down on me for this," said the 6-foot-4, 190-pound Harris, "But I'm going with Tennessee. You can only pick one school, and after talking to my mother about it, talking to my step-dad about it, and praying about it, I feel that Tennessee is the best fit for me."
"I feel like everyone's dream growing up is to play at USC one day, and to have that opportunity and turn it down … it wasn't easy," Harris said. "But I felt like when I went out there to visit, I was almost getting too caught up in the hype of the school. I prayed about it and prayed about it, and in the end I just had this feeling like Tennessee was the better fit. It's hard to really explain, but I know I have to be at Tennessee."
"My mother always told me to be a man of my word, and to stick by that word no matter what the obstacles are," Harris said. "I was blessed to have so many offers, so many great schools looking at me -- it was not easy to turn them down … But I've decided to go with Tennessee. That is my word."
"I know Tennessee hasn't had great success recently, but I trust the staff and I trust the incoming recruiting classes," Harris said. "I'm not just saying this because I'm committing there, but I truly believe Tennessee is going to be a team to watch out for in the next couple of years. Volunteer Nation is going to be back on the map."

I now have this kid right up there with Austin Sanders. So glad to see parents raising their kids right. Even if he'd picked USC, the fact that he's thought it through so much and realizes the definition of the word commitment is impressive.

New favorite player. What a good person.

With news of Massington's injury, expect USC to push hard to flip Paul Harris.

BOOOOOOOOOOM

It really says something about the allure of our program that he chose us, judging by his quote. Its amazing to me that this kid grew up DREAMING of playing for USCw yet found a better fit with us. He felt more at home with our staff and players than at a school he has wanted to go to for probably better than 10 years of his life. Kinda makes you proud.

Looks like the kid has Kiffin pegged. If that is the case I am not worried. When he said that he trust the staff at UT it almost implies that he did not have that feeling with the USC staff.

This is pretty telling.

I think you should add the phrase, "of our staff", to the last sentence. Quotes, like this one from Paul Harris, indicate how friendly of an environment Dooley and Co. have created here at Tennessee. I think they represent our university and our state exceptionally well. The past two years I've been very proud of how our football program has been run. This is the year I expect to finally be proud of how we win.

I really hope he picked us over them. I want to believe it. He was really high on them and with their numbers and the things I have read , it seemed like the logical thing was they didn't have a spot for him. Sounds like a great kid. Glad he's a Vol. :salute:

As a non-Doolaid drinker, I hope you are right.

Unless the kid is full of It, I don't see that happening. Plus I doubt Kiffin pulls the scholly from Massington.
