'13 TN DE Jason Carr (UT signee)

the top247 senior defensive lineman from white station high school in memphis, tenn., said tuesday night that he’s “pretty much done” with the recruiting process, and he has decided to cancel his previously scheduled official visit to ole miss this weekend and “be a vol.”

the 6-foot-6, 270-pound carr said he’s even planning to return to knoxville this weekend to help the vols recruit five-star safety vonn bell, who also is coming off a visit to alabama and will be taking his final visit to tennessee this weekend.

“i’m pretty much done,” said carr, who’s ranked by 247sports as the nation’s no. 117 overall prospect and the no. 3 player in the state of tennessee. “i’m just going to go on and ride these two weeks out before signing day, continue with my commitment as a vol, and i’ll be a vol and just get to grinding.”

carr said his in-home visit with jones and stripling, which lasted about 90 minutes, “went well” and only further convinced him that he wanted to stand by his pledge to tennessee. He said it was a “huge relief” to know that he finally has settled on the vols.

“basically, we were just talking about life, just talking about how i’m committed and how i’ve got total commitment to them,” carr said. “i mean, just telling them that i love them, and they were telling me they love me back. It was just a good visit.”

“basically, the alabama trip went well,” carr said. “everything was, like, tit for tat. The family environment at tennessee just stood out.

“i’ve been talking to vonn (bell) for a good, little minute, hoping i can sway him toward (tennessee). I’ve been talking to (five-star defensive end) carl (lawson). I know he loved the visit (to tennessee) when he went down there. I’m talking to him and also vonn, so trying to get those guys. I mean, hopefully i can get them.”

carr said he definitely won’t be taking any additional visits to other schools, and he’s looking forward to relaxing over the final two weeks before national signing day on feb. 6.

“basically, i shut it down,” he said.

So much love going around in our discussions with recruits lately. Haha, these kids seem to really like/respect CBJ. Huge in my opinion.

:whistling:

:birgits_giggle:

just be happy for this young man.

and be happy that we appear to have beaten bama for a helluva good player and vol

im damn glad to have this kid in orange...we needed the MO on our side.

its time for us to be on the up and up. man its been a while since ive given a crap about recruiting

Ok yeah after that article I will lean even further towards that bama visit was about Vonn and nothing else. If he has been recruiting both to tn it makes it pretty obvious

Seriously? Quoting yourself like it was earth shattering news you come up with there? Of course we were in the drivers seat with Carr we have been for months. Of course you also said Christian Morris would commit the Monday after his visit but I don't see you quoting that little nugget. Just saying.... hitting on the obvious isn't a big deal. Missing on Christian isn't either but to pat yourself on the back is pathetic. I will get blasted again but I don't care. You insider types are all tricksters pandering to the gullible.

GL you usually seem like a good poster. Why not keep it that way ? Instead of attacking OCI why don't you ignore him you have that capacity

Well, it may not have been victory on the third Saturday in October, but it is a victory over the Tide nonetheless and it feels pretty darn great! Welcome home Mr. Carr, we look forward to making serious noise for you and if you are successful in your efforts to bring Mr. Bell (let's win another one over Bama!) and Mr. Lawson with you, it will be all the more outstanding. Excellent!!!

I try so hard to just ignore but for some reason it really bothers me when people act like they know something that nobody else knows when in reality they don't. It's just a game to make themselves feel good and get attention. I've always felt this way but when I see OCI quote himself that's just over the top imo.

People were in a panic about Carr's OV to Bama. I heard he was solid and used logic to deduce that he might be working on Bell while on his OV. It was just a thought that turned out to be true if you read the articles about Carr from today. Just reading tea leaves.

Just stating what anyone else with half a brain thinks..

Also opinions are like a.s.sholes- everyone has one.

Tea leaves I can accept using "inside information angle" bothers me. Maybe I have you all wrong. Do you read the tea leaves or is all your information "insider" stuff? There is a difference but to the average poster once you use the insider card all information is considered as such. Hence why the self quote seemed a bit narcissistic to me. Look I have nothing against you personally I just have strong opinions when it comes to the use of deception whether intentional or not. Not saying you are practicing the art just saying you are walking a fine line. The good thing is you don't know me and I don't know you so realistically my opinion should be meaningless to you but it won't stop me from expressing it from time to time.
