'13 TN QB Max Staver

Right, makes much more sense to prefer the instate kid that our coaches have evaluated for awhile now and decided was not worth the offer (infact the only schools that decided he was worth an offer were TSU, Norther Colorado, Memphis, Louisville, Mississippi State, and Florida as their ninth option), over the player that our staff, Alabama's staff, LSU's staff, Michigan's staff, LSU's staff, and Clemson's staff wanted . The elite 11 also agrees with your assesment

TN isnt exactly filled with elite qb talent. But i also thonk alot of these kids dont get enough credit. ie cj boleman, bo wallace, ingle martin, etc... Id be willing to bet this kid has way more talent and potential than voytik or brunetti - both of which were 4*. Staver will be good.

Wallace just may be a big miss after all. Brunetti was suppose to be a better QB but Wallace has done nothing but set major records and beat Brunetti out of his position at his school.

So, are you assuming if he were at UT he'd be beating out Bray right now???

Attended the game last night and was not impressed at all! For the season he is not even completing 50% of his passes even with Ramsey and other reliable options on the outside. Really glad we didn't pursue or offer this guy! Florida can have him.

Other than giving your personal opinion, which is biased, do you have his stats for the game? That would be a fair way to judge his ability.

6-13, 70something yards 3tds to his team. One td to maplewood.

Ramsey had 2tds, the second was an amazing play on the ball by Ramsey. And 10-21 vs trinity, 6-13 last night equals under 50% on the season! Which if you like in your qb then fine, but for an SEC qb recruit, for any d1 qb prospect SUCKS! Especially with the weapons he has around him.

Not judging by stats. Just my personal opinion from the first two games of the season. I saw both games and have not been impressed by him in either one. But at the end of the day, a qb is going to be judged by his stats and if he can win in big games. Which to this point he hasn't impressed in either. Could turn out to become a good qb in college but that is yet to be seen.
That pick six was off a deflection.

Judging a recruit by stats can be misleading.

Isn't that trinity defense one of the best in the country?

Its the same defense that got shredded up last night by MBA for over 240 yards passing. But, yes they are a good defense but isn't he supposed to be a top qb recruit? Its not like florida recruits terrible players.

Staver was playing one of the top ten teams in the country.

Christian Hackenburg is losing 31-0 right now. I doubt he's tearing it up stat wise either.

That's because both of them just aren't very good

You all know what's fun? Not having to explain why your QB recruit isnt putting up good numbers...a close second is not having to pretend it doesn't bother you

I was at the game as well. I agree with you 100%. For BA's sake he better improve this week. MBA gave Trinity all they wanted.
Ramsey appeared frustrated with Starver.
