The coaches have seen him in person and weren't impressed enough to extend an offer. I wish him luck b/c he's from TN, but I'm not sweating passing on him.

Our QB have 3 starts combined so you can't say what they are or aren't at this game. But I'm pretty confident they would have looked like worl beaters against Mont,Mem,Ole Piss,Buff instead of Bama,LSU and FSU. I'm sure Muschamp wished he had the luxury to hide them like Dooley did Bray his freshmen yr.

you act like Bray was a world beater his freshmen yr lol Of course he's better than 2 Fr. But what has Bray done beside beat up on losing teams and throw int against better D's. The only body of work that either Brisset or JD has is against 3 of the top 5 D in the nation.

HG he didn't play bad against Georgia with them getting away with numerous PIs. He would've shredded you guys with Hunter. Don't do Bray like that. Brissett and Driskell don't have anywhere near the arm strength Bray has. Neither of them have shown flashes either like Bray did as a freshman. Hell one could argue that Worley should more promise than those two cats.

I don't usually get into these but I'm from Fl and really hate Gator fans so..........If memory serves me didn't Bray throw for 288 yards against the Gators vaunted D WITHOUT our best WR mind you? And that doesn't include 4-6 horrific PI penalties that without them could have put his total at 350yds. I'm not making excuses as to us losing but the Bray hasn't proven anything against a good D is more than a little off. Did anyone throw for more yards against you guys than Bray?

He also played well against a good North and South Carolina defense his freshman year I believe.

I don't act like Bray is a world-beater. Some UT fans do go a little overboard with the Bray craze, but I've been fairly unbiased with him.

I understand he hasn't beaten many decent teams, but that mostly isn't his fault. He didn't get many chances his freshmen year until UT put him as the starter at the back end of the season. Last year he got injured and missed most of the games against the SEC powers. That isn't his fault he was hurt. But Bray did play very well against Cincinatti, which didn't end up being a bad football team. He played well enough to beat UNC his freshmen year and UNC had a hell of a defense.

He needs some work to do for sure & he has to prove this year that he can stay healthy for a full season and get quality wins, but Bray has all the physical tools to be a 1st round NFL QB. And a high 1st round draft pick at that.

And as a UT fan, I know about having to watch freshmen QBs against the top rated SEC teams. UT had to start Worley against South Carolina & Arkansas. Brutal.

The point was about judging them off of 3 starts and 5 games played. Too early to say if the kids suck or not.

i saw new #uf qb commit max staver compete at a combine in march, and here are some quick thoughts :
-great frame and build. Tall and lean. Very muscular. He's in excellent shape. Much better than most qbs. Listed at 6-6, 236. Could be legit.
-1 thing max does not lack is confidence. He truly believes he is underrated, and is among the best qbs in the south -- if not the country.
-the film is solid, but i've been told at times he lacks a feel for the game out there. Not quite a gamer --- yet. I've not seen him in person at a game, though- but my connection up there loves the tools, just thinks he needs more experience. Translation: High ceiling, which is what you want from a qb.
-staver gets rid of the ball quickly. Consistently good spin.
-footwork is solid, but could get a little quicker. Seems to stilike him a lot.keith niebuhr


had a chance to see max in games twice this past year and he is not there yet as an in-game quarterback and that is why his rating is a little bit lower than you might expect. He did play in an offense last year that didn't really fit his skill set and i think this year he'll be placed in a position that will allow him to be more comfortable as a new coaching staff has come in.

Now, with that being said, he has some of the best pure talent and upside as anyone in the country. When you watch him at camp (as i've done two or three times this spring) he is different. He's a towering kid with good strength, a quick release as keith mentioned and he has an absolute cannon of an arm. He has nfl type upside, he just hasn't shown it in pads yet. -barton simmons

Bray threw for 200 and 2 TD's in a half vs SC his FR year. Threw for 85+ vs Bama in 2-3 series. I dont care if it was Memphis, but for Bray to throw for 5 TD's in a half as a FR was bout as impressive as it gets.

I would agree on Drisekl. Pease had to instaff a bunch of spread plays for him this offseason. So he'll get a bunch of snaps this yr even if he doesn't win the job. IMO Brisset is a perfect for the system. Pease doesn't need to change much for his skill set.
