'13 TX WR Eldridge Massington

I am waiting to see if he's actually going to graduate in December.

I was told the Complete opposite of what is being reported.

also, Massington told scout he was blindsided by USC dropping him and it wasnt mutual.

I am waiting on reply from out of LA.

will keep yall informed

This is from his interview on the radio in Bham last night. R Orr interviewed him last night on 97.3 along with Scott Griffin. It has been posted on several other boards.

USC was a school he had in high regard since he was in the 9th or 10th Grade. He was waiting for that offer and when it came, he pretty much committed on the spot.

He is going to be extremely thorough and try not to rush, even though time is of the essence. He reached out to Coach Groh to see if he still had a spot available with Alabama. Coach Groh checked with Coach Saban and told the kid to come visit and check out the campus this weekend.

He said if he has to rank the schools on his list, then its Alabama, UCLA, Tennessee, Arizona State, then Notre Dame. In that order. He plans to visit all five schools prior to making a decision, beginning with Alabama this weekend.

EM likes the idea of blocking and really sees himself similar to Julio.

He says he is extremely close to Jalen Ramsey, but it doesn't sound like either one's decision hinges on the other. He said Jalen reached out to him as soon as he heard about the de-commitment and they pretty much let each other know that they will support each other wherever they end up.

He gave two "Roll Tides!!!"

For those wanting to know what happened with USC.

Back in the summer, on July 17th, I tore my ACL at Tennessee's camp. I told USC what was going on and they told me they were going to honor my scholarship. I was going to graduate early (in December) to get to USC and start my rehab and get with some professional people who could do it. A couple of days ago, Coach (Lane) Kiffin called me and told me that three of their seniors weren't able to get their credits done and that I would not be able to go there in January. He knew my situation. The main reason I was graduating in January was to get there. I told him that I had to go somewhere I could get in in January so I could rehab my knee, because that's first priority for me, getting my knee back to a full one-hundred percent.

Even though he will make a decision in the next 2 weeks he plans on taking visits to all the schools I listed before.

Hope he doesn't believe the Julio Jones BS. A.Cooper already has that title. He's wasting his time going to a team that's going to pound the rock in tight games. He would be smart to go to a passing offense. Cooper and Black will be the men for Bama at WR for the next 3-4 years. Add Christion Jones in for the next two years too. And Cyrus Jones who's just a freshman with a lot of potential/ability. PT and passes coming his way won't be something he'll be getting.

That doesn't surprise me, LK is scum. But then again, in football, it's all about winning. Still, very unethical IMO. I hope this get's put out in public. Would love to see some negative recruiting against USC.

I think Massington has just as much skills as those other guys. He is just as fast and bring size that C. Jones, Black, and Cyrus dont have. The only guy that has separated themselves from the pack is Cooper. Everyone else is all about potential.

Yes he has the same skills Pre-injury.....what will he be like post injury?

Tee will help here but I think if anyone could lock this kid up it would be Justin Hunter. Somehow need to get them in contact and let JH tell him all about the UT Sports Medicine crew and how they got him back so fast.

We may land him either way, but Tee would definitely help. The new WR coach, whoever that may be, needs to call him ASAP.

Massington is going to be a RS candidate most likely anyhow but he is still a take no doubt.

Massington is on the UCLA campus today until Wednesday. He will go from there to Arizona State Friday & Saturday. Sunday is quiet period so no visits for him or coaches. He is announcing on Monday which also starts the dead period.

“I’m going to UCLA tomorrow through Wednesday. Then I go to Arizona State on Friday. I’m still planning on announcing on the 17th (of December).

The Tide moves to the top of the list following his trip.

"You basically have to earn everything you get here," Massington said. "I feel like all they do is work. It's a hard working team. If you don't like to work this isn't the place for you. They are No. 1 for me right now."

Regarding UA and what Saban told him.

Massington said. "He talked to me about my situation. He told me I have a scholarship. He said they would let me know by Wednesday about an open slot for January."

He wants to be an EE and enroll in Jan.:hi:
