Josh Conklin will also be on the road this week logging a lot of miles for teh Vols. He'll hit Missouri where he'll see Jamone Boyd and he'll also be in Texas to check in on Kameron Miles and Eldridge Massington as they try and stay in it with both players. Massington may be one to watch as he's stayed in touch with Tennessee the last several months.
-HubbsSpeaking of Conklin, he needs to be given credit for staying after Mesquite, Texas, wide receiver Eldridge Massington. We heard some rumblings that Massington is somewhat rethinking his commitment to USC and Tennessee is a team in play right now. It will be one to watch very closely over the next two weeks as Massington is set to enroll early.
-VQOn a recruiting note, after hinting that Eldridge Massington and USC could part ways at any time, the four-star receiver and Trojans officially parted ways Tuesday afternoon. Late Tuesday night we got word that the Vols are trying to bring in Massington on an official visit sooner rather than later and the details of that visit are to be worked out on Wednesday. Massington's an early enrollee and with him needing to make a quick decision rather quickly so that would seemingly help Tennessee.
Kudos deserves to be given to Josh Conklin for staying on Massington even when it looked as though he would stick with USC, Conklin continued to work on Massington and it may pay off in the end.
Massington and USC have parted ways.
USC was only going to be able to take him with his injury via Early Enrollment.
the injury forced him to miss deadlines and his graduation has been pushed back to the summer.
Massington told 247Sports that he was in contact ($) with Alabama, Arizona St., Tennessee, and UCLA. He said that Michigan was also supposed to get in contact with him, while LSU is a school he has not spoken with, but does have interest in.
A visit appears to be in the works to Alabama this weekend, a school that finished second for his services ($) back in the spring.
Since Massington wants to make a decision in the next two weeks so that he can enroll early, which remains a major priority for him as he seeks to continue his rehab from the torn ACL he suffered back in July at a Tennessee camp under professional care, the 6-3, 205-pounder will have to schedule any other visits quickly
He plans on making his decision a week from next Monday. He will enroll in January. Massington's top four includes Alabama, Arizona State, UCLA and USC. He recently decommitted from USC due to the Trojans not being able to bring him in this January. Alabama has told him they will take him as an early graduate.
