'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

He's not anywhere close to them at all man. Should've been a dropped and looked at like he was a 3 star back. His best quality was his "size" which isn't even good weight.

And no one listened. Hard to drown out those 5 stars.

I wanted to want him since he was a very high-ranked possibility, but his film was very underwhelming IMO

I agree with you. Kind of reminds me of Jabari Davis, years ago. Was highly touted, as a man among boys. A big, bruising back. He had some big games, even against UF, but for whatever reason, the staff never let him play much.

I always felt they should have gotten him to drop every single bad pound of weight, and he could have been a real impact player.

Same goes for Green. Had he come here, he would have been run so hard in our S&C program, that he would have been much more lean than he is, at Mich.

I would still take him if he wants to transfer. He'd have to sit out a year, but should be able to participate in practice and would certainly have time to get into shape before taking snaps here.

Yessir. He may ultimately turn out to be a bust, but it's still early.

I can agree with this, but there was nothing on film from him that ever suggested 5 star number one back in the country. I think he got that crazy unwarranted bump in the summer at a camp though.

Right. That's why I said that comparison was being kind to Green. I more meant their body types were similar. And White, when he got a little older, either couldn't keep it off or stopped trying.

Heard he also showed up to Michigan 50lbs. overweight. I hope the kid does well and all but I just never saw what the rankings said.

BS. If you run 5miles a day and watch what you eat, you ARE dropping weight...period.

A lot of his rankings have to do with him showing out at camps, too. Not just game tape.

5'11 240 is pretty stout even for Big Ten standards. He should drop back to 220-225, IMO
