'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

If there team has rushed for negative yards in back to back games then that tells me you got a scheme problem or oline problem

I think a couple things to consider are that Green probably doesn't get a whole ton of practice snaps with the first team offense, and that Michigan's O-Line is absolute garbage. Green is a N/S bruiser, and as Gr8 2 B a V pointed out, was the #1, 5* RB in last year's class. If he wanted to come to UT, this would be a great asset for us in the backfield, especially on third and short and goalline plays. Take, take, and uh... yeah, take.

Is this dude even transferring?

I sware this & the Michael Dyer thread may be the biggest waist of time[/QUOTE]

I have a question. Why is everybody so anti Green now? Before he committed to Michigan, he was the best recruit we could get. We are recruiting James and Scott at RB so why would we not want a consensus 5* RB but settle for a 4*? Doesn't make sense. As I have said before just because he has not excelled at Michigan, does not mean he couldn't come here and be a stud.

I would have no problem with the staff taking Green if he wanted to be a Vol.

Maybe because he was not caught multiple times carrying a gun, has not stolen anything, and has not jumped anyone on campus people think he is now a pass. He may be only a 1/2 a star in the prison violence rankings. He's gonna have to stab someone to get his rep up. Then he will be a take. :)

This is very accurate. Their passing game also blows which doesn't help the run game. But good luck getting these extremely basic concepts thru to those with a clear cut agenda.

He's not eligible next year like those guys though. If he were I would want to take him. By the time he's eligible we'll have a sophomore Hurd, Paulk, possibly a third back in this class, and at least a couple really highly rated guys from the 2015 class. IMO he'll make 2015 and 2016 RBs more leery of our depth chart, and I have serious concerns about whether he can stay close to his playing weight. He also has barely seen the field for a bad Michigan team. Other than a rivals ranking, I don't get the enthusiasm to take him.

We haven't proven anything yet.. You take the best players you can can whenever you can get them. Quality depth is how you win... I hope we find ourselves turning down players but right now nothing is guaranteed and we need some serious help

What has he proven other than the fact that he's not ok with being quality depth? That's my other issue with this that I didn't touch on. He's proven himself to be a guy who will complain to the media if he's not THE guy. Not the best attitude for a RB who just averaged less than 2 yards per carry in his last game when he got increased work.

you guys do realize that ace williams has 0 insider info on michigan football right? he is a 16 year old high school kid that makes **** up all the time

Anyone with a name like Ace has to be solid. Sour grapes?

eh believe if you want but as someone who follows UM football i know who's credible and who isn't, much like you know what UT reporters are worth listening to and which aren't.

if the kids do end up leaving then they leave, it's not going to affect my personal life either way so it is what it is
