Zero chance he starts over AJ. With Jakob Johnson being an EE, he has a better shot at being AJ's backup as well.
I agree. The bigger competition will be for that 3rd LB spot. JRM and the new guys will fight that one out, looking forward to hearing the reports.
Do not shortchange Justin King. He is very athletic and played LB in HS. He has spent a year making the conversion and has the size and speed to do it well. I see him backing AJ before a freshman gets the job.

What an upgrade. There was a good chance, and we all feared that we were going to be very inexperienced and lean at LB this year. Almost the exact opposite.
And not only that but Propst, Brewer, Sapp, Harris and Crump will be replaced with Bryant, Bates, Johnson, Weatherd and Mouhon. Quite the talent upgrade in just one class.
I could be wrong, but I personally dont see King being much of a factor. I really think there will be a couple of true freshman in the two deep at LB.
