Parents are definitely at fault but they don't hand out diplomas.

There are diplomas then there are "certificates of completion". Without cheating, one cannot graduate without passing the standardized testing. Usually that requires reading.

That's not true at all. Especially with big time athletes.
So what level of reading are we talking here? When someone says "he can't read" is that to say he has a 5th grade reading level or he literally cannot read? Honestly it seems silly to think a kid would get past 5th grade without being able to read. They start holding you back in 3rd grade if you can't read IIRC and at the very least schools will recognize if a student cannot read and develop a specialized program / class to suit him.

I'm sure it's probably reading at a very low level.

Wow seems like some dumb speculation. To any of you saying he has trouble reading, do you have any kind of proof? Or are you just going on how he speaks or just stupid Internet rumors?

Are you jack wagons trying to push players away? I mean between stirring up anxiety on twitter over Lambert to now saying Scarborough is illiterate I'm starting to wonder. You guys suck.

Yeah, we figured it would be super secret smart to do it in the Scarborough thread

Teachers cheat just like sumo wrestlers.

Nice Freakonomics reference... That guy is a genius figuring all that out from just piles of data laying around when no other economist has. Was sweet to see him prove the Chicago teachers a bunch of cheaters, but was hardly a surprise. The sumo thing caused a humongous scandal in japan. I liked the chapter on names and their effect on future success. Also bill Clinton claiming success in reducing the crime rate but finding out that it was the 18-22 year window after roe vs wade. Many were unsettled that we were killing the people from a poor subculture that was most likely to commit crime. It put them in a conundrum for sure

It's one of my favorite books. I thought the comparison with real estate and the Klan was funny also. The roe vs. Wade thing is true, but its also very sad. These guys are very methodical with how they collected data.
