He's been a track guy for years. That's why he moved to California. He loves jumping. He's been being recruiter as a track star since before he even went to high school. And before football was even on the radar.
I guess the track program has declined since the late 60's when 7' high jumper Karl Kremser kicked field goals for the Vols and world-class high-hurdler Richmond Flowers played football as well before taking his game to the NFL.
The Tom Black Track was new and one year the NCAA National Outdoor meet was in Knoxville. Think it was the year after the Mexico City Olympics. That would have been 1969.
Are we seriously talking ab track in the 60's?
back to Jackson, I still think no one knows where he ends up. If he likes UF I think that's where he ends up. I know hes not scared of comp. But he is a day 1 starter other side of Sutton. At UF he will have a lot of talent with him. This is going to be fun at least we are in it!
He would make more $$ in NFL. Olympians make their $$ in endorsements/sponsors. Compared to NFL he would have a salary & endorsements.

That's if he gets major endorsements while in the NFL. Yes, a lot of superstars get huge endorsement contracts, but in all honesty, I would guess that a fairly small percentage of NFL players have big endorsements. That said, the salary alone wouldn't be too shabby...haha.
That is what I have been thinking for a while. The parents want UT and he wants UF. LSU could become a compromise team. And distance wise it compares to Knoxville.
