(sigh)
Looks like we'll have to settle for having one of our FIVE 4* DB's in the secondary instead of Adoree Jackson.
Poor us.
You are dead on target.....great post....and we can say we really did not need him.....add Cam Sutton to that group.
We will not know until these 4* hit the field how special they are. Which one of these guys loses their stripes first.
What some don't understand here is how the recruiting services continually play us in recruiting. They blow up statements and as fans we bite hook line and sinker.
In doing so, they take the hits and paralay them into advertising dollars. It's all about Buzz ratings.
In the process, all of this causes chaos and confusion. Look at the disruption going on with Hendrix and Barrnet at present...yes Missouri and Mississippi are perusing them but the services are adding the extra bit of drama to cause all fans to click on their websites.
The Brice Brown event was out of the norm because of the Kiffin and Lacy factors...
We chase these HS players like we are HS kids that are love struck and must haves for the senior prom....when they should be the ones chasing us....
Bottom line the Dbacks we have signed are quality backs and when coached up will surprise you....I would rather have a 4* that is hungry to prove the recruiting services wrong than a 5* that thinks his stuff does not stink.
If he was going to miss football for track and split time between the two, miss spring practices and travel the world chasing the Olympics the next 2 years, then we really did not need him here.
Our focus is football period....rise to the top and we need players totally focused on that the next 365 days x 4. We would not get that with Jackson.
The please yourself tweet....has nothing to do with football and it is all about track. Do we fix the track team to get him, hell no....
At this point we want recruits solely dedicated to rebuilding this program, staying in good standing academically, disciplined, and zero premodonas.
Jackson was a distraction, not by his fault but it was enhanced by the recruiting services seeking ADvertising dollars. TIFWIW
