A recruit can say whatever they want and nothing can be verified because a coach cannot speak to a recruiting website about an unsigned player. So, everything you posted is based solely on speculation. If Rivals is the only website speaking to Greg then it doesn't matter because It can't be confirmed by a coach. I agree that he is enjoying the spotlight and he is prolly embellishing as he goes through the process. I just don't believe that schools like a Miami would not offer the kid even though Gregory says that they love him.

I feel he is a safety play as of right now for teams. If we don't get the numbers that Coach Jones wants, then we offer Greg. Kinda like Jabo Lee was for us last year when we whiffed on all RBs.

You are clearly relying on the point of Miami and furthermore, vastly overestimating Miami's recruiting efforts. There is plenty of talent in the pantry that they haven't offered yet or have simply been late to game with, this year and last. As for the stuff about speculation...it goes both ways...but the fact is, coaches are callin' and droppin' by the school to see him and Valentine. That's not speculation. There are offers on the table for both of them and I wouldn't go as far as to say the kid is lying (especially without any proof) -- that's kind of a low blow in my book. Now as to wether they are commitable or not...that is indeed "speculation"...As we've seen with Caleb Kinlaw "offers" may be there one day, then gone the next...with the kid being left out in the dark, in some cases.

I'm not asking for blind faith in what a recruit says, but generally giving the kid the benefit of the doubt in situations like this is the respectable thing to do. JMO :hi:

Not bashing a kid. Read previous post. I said the kid may have the ability to play and I hope he does. Offers as of now don't show that he has a lot of interest from SEC schools including UT on some sites. Other sites say he does have interest. Regardless, he does have schools interested in him and I am not saying that he doesn't. He probably has talked to UT coaches over the phone but he hasn't done enough to get a committable offer as of now.

My take is that he is a safe play for us for now and if we don't land our top LB prospects then we offer later. Kinda like Jabo was for us at RB last year when former Coach Graham whiffed on all our big RB prospects.

I feel I have taken no shots at a kid that obviously enjoys his time in the sunshine. Look at his last tweet on the twitter sticky and it would show that he love his attention. All of what I have said is completely based on speculation, so if I am wrong then the kid wins because he gets to play for a great university and I get to cheer for him. I hope I'm wrong and we offer tomorrow. I mean ESPN apparently interviewed him so maybe he will get an offer. Good if he does and maybe all this speculation would end.

Lastly, I posted a lot of stuff previously simply to try to win an argument over Kirby. Everyone was wrong and that is why those post were deleted. Don't start going down that bunny trail again because I don't care enough to argue.

“right now i have six offers from cincinnati, louisville, michigan state, connecticut louisiana lafayette and smu,” said miclisse. “it is a blessing to me that i am being recruited by all those schools all over the country and i have more and more schools calling me every day.

“i know i have the talent to play anywhere and i just need to get my grades in order and continue to work on my game. I know i have to keep working hard to be good at what i do on and off the field.

“i don’t have a top five or anything right now, but i like tennessee, oklahoma, notre dame, georgia and miami, but i am waiting to see what all those schools are going to do.

This has to be one of the most bizarre recruiting cases I've watched over the last few years. Between the stretched truths and Volnation gossip I don't know what to believe with this young man anymore. It will be very interesting to see if we allow this kid to commit here.

I think the kid made a play to try and get interest from some bigger schools by claiming fake offers. So far, it has not worked out. I can't blame the kid for trying. He did get a lot of twitter love/followers out of the whole deal. Maybe with a good SR season he can get an offer from one of his top 5.

This. Unfortunately, we are in on way too many LBs to offer. Not going to lie at first I thought we really offered (hell even PFort did right?) but I think it's clear whether we offered or not he's down our list...

Any combo of 3-5 with the bolded as a must get :)
