Serious concern I have... is that he gets too AMPed up during the flow of the game and starts shouting the assignments to the defensive front in his native German. Lol.

At least in this small regard, losing AJ may help us going forward. Jakob is going to be forced to get some very valuable reps that likely will benefit him for next year.

Yet another true freshman starter!

And isn't it funny how Jakob went from a 2* recruit that made quite a few people question Butch and complain about wasting spots in last years class, and is now someone that a lot of people are excited to see start in the most important game of the year? I think Butch is almost to the point where he can't be questioned when it comes to recruiting.

He was a 3 star.

Thought he was a 4* on at least one site.

If I remember right, he was not ranked - or was ranked very low - on 247 prior to our offer. After we offered, he was given a 4* ranking on their service. ESPN hadn't ranked him at all at the time of our offer, and Rivals and Scout were both 2*. I think that ESPN, Rivals and Scout all ended up giving him 3 stars.

You're correct. Your point is that the coaches can evaluate talent. I would never question that.

Butch's eye for talent is pretty bad ass. Jakob came over from Germany and sent film around to various coaches. Butch jumped all over him off of some low grade film before the services even evaluated him. People kill me accusing him of coach speak. It couldn't be more opposite. He just tells us exactly what he's gonna do. He said he and this staff would not be out worked recruiting. From any other coach that is coach speak. For coach Jones, it's simply answering a question.

This kid will be surrounded by a great supporting cast on the field. I'm not the slightest concerned for Jakob, I think he will do great. I'm also not going to be down on him for some missed plays. This is being thrown into the fire at its finest.

Yeah same here. Worst case scenario, you throw him out there and he looks physically impressive (fast, strong, etc) but just lost. If that happens you switch Bynum in. Best case scenario? Man I think he could be a few small steps down from AJ Johnson right now.

The two main things I need to see from Jakob, are his tackling. How will he handle tackling SEC RBs/QBs/TEs? Also is he mentally prepared? Does he know where to be and does he make plays on the ball?

The team should learn the defense in German. Talk about intimidating!

Would be incredibly badass. Imagine being on the other side of this huge, dreadlocked dude shouting out adjustments in German.

Might pee my pants a bit if I'm an opposing QB.
