Homeless people are everywhere. See them all the time sadly. It's ironic that were suppose to be more peace loving here, but we have a lot of crime here. There's least one shooting a day here.

I don't understand the hate on Cali. I grew up close to Knoxville and moved to SoCal many years ago. We also have a home on the lake in Knoxville. We spend half the year in Cali and half in TN. Maybe its just the neighborhoods that I have lived in in CA, but I have never felt that crime was any different between TN and CA. And we love the weather here in the winter. However, you can't beat east TN in the spring and fall!

Thanks. Its a pain in the butt to keep up two homes, but it seems to be worth it.

Northern California is different from southern cali. I live in a town that's doing very bad also.

Fair enough. I've lived in several places in Socal, but never NorCal. Currently, we live out in the country in rural San Diego County. More coyotes than people!

Pretty true. They are extremely difficult to develop. Sometimes I see cats whose calves look like my thighs and just shake my head.

I'm a History teacher and every year I teach a couple of lessons on ancestors, and how there are clues to your heritage. You can look in the mirror and get some clues, eye color, hair color etc., but the easiest way is to do a Sur name search of you and your relatives. The students always love these lessons. My background is German and Greek mainly German.

I am a geneology freak and love looking up my heritage, I even have an account on Ancestry.com. I love to look up last names of my ancestors and learn what they mean and where they came from. I also like to look up the physical and genetic makeup of those people to see if I am like them in any way. I do that literally all day.
