Don't like this comparison but I believe JJ will be to Tennessee what Patrick Willis was with Ole Miss. Sometimes, you have to give these guys a chance in your own state.

To tell the truth, while Willis is wonderful we didn't actually have slop at LB. Jerod Mayo did just fine. No one knew Willis would turn out like that. Giving guys chances got us in the hole we're in now. Guys like Tyler Maples and Todd Campbell on schollie at UT was ridiculous.

Thank you!! BB bringing the goods today! Guys like you mentioned should have been preferred walk-ons, like Jumper, Underwood, etc in this class. When you start taking too many chances on borderline guys in hopes of finding the next Patrick Willis, then you end up with a dumpster fire for a roster. Tennessee is getting back to recruiting the way we used to when we were a powerhouse.

So we have a real business man as our coach. It's exactly what any smart coach should do. I'd make contacts in Canada also. We can find great things in places where people don't look.

This guy is quickly becoming the player I'm pulling for most from this years class. Love the determination and initiative he showed to earn his shot with a major program. During the quick interview they did of him and Hurd on ESPNU, he teared up a bit when Edwards talked about how his hard work to get here was finally paying off. That kind of passion and drive can only serve this guy well in life.

Awesome young man. He just really has the drive, passion, and maturity (he's almost 20) to make such an immediate impact. He's truly a head-hunter.

Agreed, its way easier to sell a proven product over a work in progress. He did tremendous. I think we have five 5-star ability players if not more.

I'm trying to temper expectations for he, Hurd, Malone and Pearson. These 4 are just straight up physical freaks.

After spending time all over Europe, We need to look in the Netherlands. On average they have the biggest guys anywhere. I'm pretty sure it's due to drinking milk and eating cheese all day long. I'm 6' 235 and in a group pic with about 20 of my Dutch colleagues, I was by far the smallest guy in the pic.

Yeah, I am 6'3" 225 and I was absolutely normal size there. I work for Delta and have been to almost everywhere and that was the only place I have been where I was just the normal size. My wife is 6' and she was about the same height as all the Dutch girls too.

Very true I'm Dutch and 6'7" 250 and I'm not even the tallest in my family. I have female cousins that are almost my height. We like American football but it's no more than a novelty there. All the best athletes play voetball (aka real football )
