Y'all need to start a girls of thread wherever they're allowed. It's getting to the point where this thread is junked up for no reason.

Sorry! Let's get back to talking about Jakob, I like every one of out LB commits but he's the one I'm the most excited/curious to see play. I have somewhat of an idea of what to expect from the rest of that group but I really don't have a clue with this guy.

Ditto..these threads sometimes turn into facebook discussions for several pages. Oh well.

Eh it happens... I want to know more about practice reports if anyone has quotes or links. I keep hearing all these good things about practice but have yet to find the sources or details. Somebody around here has got to have something they can share with us.

Want to see what happens if this kid lines up over the TE in the run game. Will be fun watching them try to run to the edge. :)

SN: if he or Bryant man the middle and AJ is suspended I want to see how they play. Got a feeling they'll be all over the field.

I remember that like it was yesterday! Netherlands attack is ridiculous with guys like Robben, Snijder, and Van Persie. I would love to see some great defenders emerge for them. But of course I'm pulling for the US, but with the group we're in, I'm sure I'll be pulling for Netherlands to win. Brazil will be tough to beat though.

Have loved watching the Dutch play for years. I saw them play twice in Orlando for the '94 World Cup back when they had Overmars, Bergkamp, Kluivert, the De Boer brothers, etc... I find it difficult to cheer for them as long as DeJong is on the team though. He is truly a POS. The Clockwork Orange is a thing of beauty though.

Those are some legends! What's the deal with DeJong? But yes, they're insane passers, and Snijder could probably drain a goal from the 50, I wouldn't mind seeing him kick a fg lol.

I grew up idolizing those guys. Bergkamp's late winner against argentina is still one of my favorite calls in sports.

Van bronckhorst just retired, maybe we can get him to kick? He had an absolute screamer in 2010.

De Jong is a very physical defender and probably should have drawn red in the 2010 final. That said I think his reputation as a "dirty player" is overblown because of that game. He only has one career red card.

back to football, please!

I've watched every video I can find on young Mr. Jackson and forgive me but I don't see the attraction? I sure hope he has more speed than shown? and is intelligent enough to pick up on coaching?

All I see is practice fodder. :(

One of the most disappointing things about January linebacker enrollee Jakob Johnson's name popping up over the weekend among those charged with underage drinking was the fact that so many in and around the program — and the Knoxville community — have already come to love the big Germany native. He’s already become one of the team’s most active members out in the community, making several trips to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital and various area charities.-247 Sports

I think is safe to say no one holds drinking against a college kid, especially Jacob being from Germany where its legal for someone his age already.

My wife grew up in Germany and went to her 1st Oktoberfest at age 12. Majority of Europeans don't look at alcohol the same as Americans. It's accepted and people are taught how to be responsible. Look at the amount of DUI and alcohol realted issues they have compared to America, we have a ton more.

This kid is fine and was probably dribnking the lightest beer he's ever had.

We have some friends from Germany that has a 19 year old son and they moved here to work at the Volkswagen plant. Their son hates certain things here like having to drive a car (he likes the rail system in Germany) and not being able to legally drink here. The kid has a good head on his shoulders. His parents raised him right.
