'14 GA ATH Myles Autry

This might be very true. As I said, BB, it is just my opinion with no real info to add to it. Maybe MzT will add a perspective that is first hand info, if she chooses. I do know that she loves Coach Maloof, and I know her enough to say, that she wouldn't love a coach who risked further injury to his players by allowing them to continue playing with a serious injury that could cause more damage. Once again, JMHO.

That's what I find weird about this situation, that staff has put lots of kids in major programs and obviously put guys like Croom in a position to succeed, so that makes it all the more strange to me that they allowed a kid to play on an injured knee.

Don't want to speak for the OP but I thought he meant by playing on it he delayed his surgery thus felayed his recovery, not that he riskef hurting it further.

It only delayed the time table one week. I don't see that as delaying his recovery time. He hurt it in the state semis.

He only played an extra game on it, and it was heavily bandaged with a big brace, too. I still think the doctors told them that it would not do any further damage by playing on it, but that could be completely wrong. Completely different sports, but Tiger played with a ruptured ACL for almost a year, I think, before having surgery after winning the 2008 US Open. There's a lot of torque on that left knee in the golf swing, and he had said the doctors told him he wouldn't do any further damage to it by playing on it.

Ex-Georgia Tech signee Myles Autry said he talked with UGA’s Mark Richt | College recruiting blog

part of the article

Coach Richt told me he called Georgia Tech’s compliance to see if I got an official release and to see my restrictions,” Autry told the AJC on Saturday. “He found out that I was a free agent, so we talked yesterday. He basically said that he wants to look into my situation more. “He asked which prep school I’m going to so they can look into it. Basically, he wants to keep in touch with me.”
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound wide receiver from Norcross High School said he both requested and was granted an unconditional release from the letter of intent he signed with Georgia Tech because his older brother, wide receiver Anthony Autry, was dismissed from the ACC program earlier this week for violating an undisclosed university policy.
The younger Autry had not yet enrolled at Georgia Tech this summer because he was waiting on approval from the NCAA Clearinghouse (and is still waiting). Autry said he will likely go to prep school this fall to get his academics in order, and then report to a four-year college in January. He hasn’t been offered yet by anybody since his release.
Along with UGA, Autry said he’s also heard from coaches from Louisville and West Virginia within the last couple of days.
Some of Autry’s new followers on Twitter include Louisville defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, Alabama wide receivers coach Billy Napier, West Virginia wide receivers coach Lonnie Galloway, and Georgia State assistant Jay Volker.

At this point UGA might take just about anyone that can breathe to add some depth to their defense.

Hope this kid finds a good home.

You trust that staff quite a bit to have no ties to it. There are a lot of coaches that are out for rings.....

AVI trusts them because he knows "US" and how we are about the kids in our program. NHS would NEVER EVER NEVER; allow one of ours to indanger his/her careers. Under any circumstances

What's up, MzT??!! It's almost that time! I've got a mini-package of tickets for this year with my bro-in-law...good Lord willing, we will be at Utah St, Florida, and Mizzou! Look forward to meeting up and catching up a little. Been very busy with work and my family the last many months and haven't been able to touch base with you, but will soon. Hope the family is well.

Good choice, young man. Get that knee 100% healthy, and his options could open up a lot as a 2015 EE.
