One school of thought on the Berry twins is they are hanging on so that their teammates get some looks from the scouts in the stands on Fridays. They are very loyal to their bros much like EB was with Art Evans/Savion Frazier etc when he went on that rant a few yrs ago. Great to hear if true as they will have those same leadership qualities and pride like EB which our team. has been lacking a little bit.

People say the twins are waiting around to try and get their teammates some attention and try and help get them scholarships. I don't buy it. The twins themselves have said that other schools don't really call. Other schools don't come see them. They don't see much if any attention from other schools because those schools fully expect them to be Vols come NSD. I can honestly say if I were a coach, I would not waste my time recruiting a kid that everyone knows is going somewhere else.

I dont see any way he is apart of this class if he's not even on Blinn's roster. That would be 3 times at 3 schools that he's basically been dismissed. That is a clear and disturbing pattern. This staff would be crazy to bring someone like that in.

Don't shoot the messenger. We're all speculating at this point. They have not been traveling/camping and that may show their hand a little, definitely shows they're not worried about offers. Maybe thats where the opinion of trying to help their teammates get some evaluations??
Hubbs or someone of the like said it on their sportstalk show over the weekend. Might have been Austin Price on the Locker Room. Do tell if u know 100% what the reason(s) are? Id say its a combination of being locks and maybe Butch sandbagging and spacing it out maybe some other variables.

Butch is a guy who's embraced all that is UT, it's traditions, it's history and it's former players. This class is full of legacies from top to bottom and there's not a doubt in my mind Butch is doing everything he can to make sure James Berry's youngest two boys are Vols.

If Evan and Elliott weren't very good, I'd understand them not being apart of this class. That's part of the business. But these kids are very good. If they had opened up their recruitment more, gone to camp after camp, visited schools all over the country and showed they might not be Vols...their offer lists would be much longer.

The fact is, they've been Vols for a long time and most everyone knows that. If I'm wrong, I'll eat crow. But I don't think I am. I think Butch wants them to commit late in the process to finish off the UT RISE TO THE TOP LEGACY CLASS OF 2014.

I think you are right that they are going to be Vols period - they have been great HS players - have really good speed and athleticism - their Dad was a great athlete and their brother was an unbelievable athlete - not sure what more you would want to show you they have a really good chance at being a good D1 player

that being said - imo Vic Wharton might be Butch's most important recruit and UT's most important in some time and i don't care if he ever plays a down - the momentum he helped generate with this class and how together he helped make the commits I think will go a long way to changing this program and also helping keep the recruits on board if things go south this year

I agree with you on Vic, but I also dont think TKjr gets enough credit for his role. He committed much sooner than anyone expected and really set the tone.

No doubt, SCVol, that's why I said top 5, possibly 1 and 2. Vic, TKjr and Hurd would be in there with the twins. But you're right, Vic has been the glue for sure. Vic is a VFL already.

yeah i agree they are top 5 - i think too many on here have taken "not as good as their brother" as not takes or only takes b/c of their last name which is crazy

I mean there are a lot of all SEC players that aren't and haven't and won't be as good as their brother

Everyone including other recruits know they are vol locks. Not sure why you have any doubts. No way in hell butch wouldn't take them.

We will know more where UGA stands with him after this weekend. UGA has 3 db commitments and looks like an additional 2 more would finish that part of the class up with a CB and Safety. If UGA offers Mike Rogers and as you said continues to really push for Wesley Green that might end the class. It will be interesting who he picks to visit as officials. UGA is one, but he could add Tennessee, Ole Miss, Auburn, and maybe visit South Carolina again. How many DBs are you guys looking to take this class?
