'14 GA RB Treyvon Paulk (UT Signee 2/5/14)

If Paulk is truly innocent -- truly, mind you -- then it is an injustice to him not to be reinstated, regardless of the current media climate surrounding the AJ/Williams case.

And with regard to whether or not he did hit the girl, I've heard that several people witnessed him do so. If so, I wonder if there are extenuating circumstances, like, for example, he hit her because she was physically attacking him?

There's a difference, imo, between outright punching or slapping a girl out of male dominance, and administering a little slap to get her to retract her claws and break off an attack on you. It's hard to take the high ground when you are getting your eyes scratched out.

If several people did witness the former, then, he shouldn't come back regardless of whether or not he's cleared "legally." But if it's a scenario like the latter, there should at least be room for discussion.

If something were to happen with him you would think we would hear something soon. I doubt he gets back on the team, I think a lot of this speculation is based upon him still getting some academic assistance.

To be continued...

"We'll continue to look into that situation, just like we do with every single player, and certain criteria, is that being met, and then what's best for Tennessee football and for Treyvon in moving forward as well."

Key sentence to me. Sounds like if he keeps his head on the straight and narrow, he will be back.

I think coaches known pretty early on whether a player will contribute at some point in his career. So CBJ must really think Paulk has the goods for this to linger this long.

Ive seen posters mention this a lot, and I've set expectations accordingly. Hopefully everything works out for him.

Did I miss something here? I remember the drinking incident. Is this in reference to that, or something else entirely?

The Vols signed Alvin Kamara, a junior college transfer and former Alabama freshman, and John Kelly in 2015, and Jones said at his news conference on signing day earlier this month the lack of depth in Tennessee's backfield was "a big concern."

Suck on it Leb!

If it was that big of a concern, you would think he would not have offered Bussey a BS or nothing knowing he would walk? I think Butch does see it as a concern. More so looking beyond 2016. He will address that concern by taking a couple backs in 2016.

Suck on it Leb!

And this:

"It's very uneasy," he said, "going into a football season where you'll have three running backs on scholarship. (I've) never had that."

This is very positive news on Paulk. For the first time, we have some indication from CBJ that Paulk still has a chance to return. It would be great if he could earn a second chance. We've seen that Sawyers wasted his second chance. Let's hope that Paulk goes for it.

So according to you he is just lying...for what purpose? Never mind I don't care to hear your opinion(gives it anyway)

I think Paulk will be back, but when is now the issue. He would have to keep his nose clean, and I suspect any other issues will result in immediate dismissal. The situation with AJ/Williams is cramping CBJ's position on reinstatement. The longer that case drags out the tougher it is to reinstate. I would look for reinstatement to fall either before or after the Spring workouts. He will likely at least work out for the summer with the team to get back in shape and ready for fall camp.

So Leb, who posts here every minute of everyday has suddenly gone quiet when proof is shown he was wrong?

Not surprised.

And I even kinda like Leb.

I kinda remember hearing the same sort of talk regarding Pig Howard, during his sabbatical.
