'14 GA S Cortez McDowell (UT Signee 2/5/14)

betting that less than 15% of posters get the reference lol. which is refreshing for me, tired of all these old references from before i was alive lol

Damn kids keep walking on my lawn!

Will Cortez be a dual sport athlete at Tennessee. I have a buddy who works for Major League Baseball and said this could kid would be a Top 20 Round Draft Pick as a Centerfielder?

GA is the only team that scares me with him because he has visited them so much

This gets blown out of proportion at times, especially with UGA. Kids like Kamara and even Jason Croom visited UGA a ton and went elsewhere. Its close and they get lots of love, why not go if you have nothing else to do?

Good example on Croom..was never a huge target for UGA and i don't even think they offered him..their loss though

Brendan Langley would be a good example of what I am talking about....kid committed to SC but kept on visiting UGA....UGA stole him late in the game

That being said.....I think TN gets McDowell

McDowell would be huge and Tennessee could seemingly be done at safety in this class. I think 5 DB's are a must, 3 being corners. At this point it really does seem like there is a real chance they could have a class of McDowell and Kelly at Safety, Autry and Payne at Corner and Gaulden as either a Safety of Cornerback (I think he is an even better CB prospect than Safety).

No Berry's?

Wasn't it Buck Fitzgerald (or one of the midstate guys) that said Gaulden was a better CB prospect than Jalen Ramsey?

I'm not sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if he said that. The guy looks like an elite cornerback prospect all the way from what I've seen of him. Very physical, very explosive, super quick laterally, great hip movement. Big-time talent at CB IMO.

Seems like a lot of you folks are talking like, "Oh, I suppose we'd let the Berrys come to Tennessee, maybe, though I wish we could do better." 1. These guys are both very, very good. We need them. 2. They're legacies and their hearts would bleed orange (that's worth a significant bump in their so called ratings in and of itself). And 3. They probably read this forum regularly, and they both already resent everybody assuming they will automatically come to TN (Wonder twins! Brothers of NFL star showcase speed | AJC College Sports Recruiting), so such comments do not help, either with them or with any of the other legacies. All the legacies should be viewed as a package, part of the family. That added enthusiasm, brotherhood and passion is just what we need to get Tennessee football back to where it should be.

Luckily in addition to camping out on this board, they talk to our new coaches recruiting them. Butch doesn't take anyone for granted and he lives that attitude...if Butch wants the Berry twins they'll know it...from him
