Why move him again? We're bringing in real OLBs. JRM and Bates will be starters for a while. Bryant and Elliot Berry are going to be good. The Austin Smith kid from Buford is 6'3 245 and runs a 4.6 I guess we should move him to make room for McDowell huh? Even though he can cover down the field.

Now who are our safeties on campus again? Because we aren't deep there. McDowell and TKjr NEED to stay at safety. And both are made for the position......

Ftr, I want him and Kelly on the back end, and I'm not sure where Elliott lands.

This. He's barely been on campus and people want to move him because of his perceived weight. Keep people in the positions they were recruited for. I understand the need to move guys if there's glaring deficiencies in the player playing the position. But at least evaluate them before moving them.

I've always thought Elliot will be more of a special teams ace during his career here. I don't think he will ever be a starter on defense, but he might break into the two deep.

He's could make a huge impact as a nickel backer. I'd love to see RBs or TEs outrun him on third downs.

Don't agree at all. May be a position we didn't see last year, but he'll have a spot. Too smart.

I never said move him right now. I said I think he will become an OLB. He's already the perfect size as a freshman for Safety. Obviously you can control weight gain, but what if he is still growing? I don't think it's a farfetched argument as a self appointed guru is suggesting. I understand he was recruited as a safety. I'm just saying I think he will continue growing. It's not like he would be the first to do it. Your Austin Smith argument... where did I say move him? It's not like there is a ton of depth at the position. Smith and McDowell can both be an OLB, and be on the same team. Does that leave us with a lot of OLB? Maybe. Like my original post said, we'll see. To Sandune, obviously he will be evaluated at the position first. Again, I didn't say he will be moved next week. I said EVENTUALLY. I understand both of you offer different opinions, and that's fair. Both of you may be right. I think Cortez will look really good at Safety this year personally. But again, I think he will outgrow the position. Imo.

Much better IMO...coupled with the fact that Elliott was always going to be an OLB...Cortez is NEVER going to be one. :yess:
