It just means he can be on scholarship while he sits out. If he went somewhere to which Clemson denied a release, he would have to pay his own way for that year.

Would love to see Kitt transfer here. That would give him a year to learn the offense and be ready to contribute when we lose Pig and Pearson. 2016 receivers North, Malone, Croom, P. Williams, J. Smith, Wharton, Jenkins, Kitt, and anyone else in this years class that ends up in the slot. Plus whatever high profile receiver we get in the 2016 class.

My first misgivings on Dooley was his unreasonable requirements on releasing players...starting with Nick Lamaison. Everyone understood him not wanting Aaron Douglas to go straight to Bama...but he ended up there anyway (hate to use that example). But I think coaches gain a lot of needed recruiting points by coming across as interested in a player's longterm happiness...'s why I would have been ok with giving Carr clear sailing to Bama...if they had been interested....sell classy?... Be classy! :yess:

Yeah, lamaison's case was dumb. Kid was never going to play here and should never have signed. Why screw his future?

Very well could be. I've heard OSU and Florida thrown around loosely. I think there is no concise leader but we did recruit him hard in 2014. Should be interesting because he would get a lot more PT at UK
