Head coaches are most often used when a player and those close to him are on campus. In accordance with the new way of doing things on The Hill, first-year head man Butch Jones is taking hold of the recruitment of specific players.
"That's an honor for me to have the head coach recruiting me," Garrett told InsideTennessee. "That doesn't happen everyday to have a head coach constantly hitting you up. I mean I've been talking to him basically all week. We've been communicating back and forth."
"That really shows how much they like me,"
It's likely to be several months before coaches and fans learn of where Garrett will take his talents.
"Probably (a televised declaration) at the Army All-American Bowl," he said. "I mean if I feel comfortable making my decision after I take all five of my officials then I might do it maybe a month after or something like that. But, as of right now, the Army All-American Bowl."
"I haven't been down to Knoxville, but I plan to go down sometime at the end of July hopefully,"
I think this was from a video interview from the Opening that's been on YouTube for a while  I should have posted.- Scout
Also talked about Les Miles and John Chavis recruiting him. He loves Chavis. He will definitely visit LSU and UT at some point, and probably Florida.
Dude, you're on a Vol board. Of course there's gonna be some people who pick the Vols in that game.
Of course not just "some" but a lot of posters should pick the Vols, regardless. But on any board there should be some posters knowledgeable enough to see that last year's game would match the UF defense against the Vols offense (particularly the passing game). And everyone talking about UT's defense being superior to UF's was a little silly. I think you can see that from a vantage point in 2013.
And to the excuse that Dooley was the coach, you fans had had plenty of time to size Dooley up before the UF game.

What do fans have to do with an outcome of a game? Are you posting right now to get some after the fact 'Atta Boys'? Easy to act like a know it all after an event occurs.
I guess he's talking about all the wins that were predicated and sh!t that was talked on here b4 that game. Not sure what he expected. We are vols fans. I will talk sh!t and go crazy for my vols every game and especially to gator fans.
Not to mention our defense just looked like it had first game jitters against NCSU, and if it hadn't just completely fallen off the table were in a good position to win that game.
I don't see where the expectations were silly or unrealistic aside from the people who were talking about storming the field after we win by Wednesday.
Even if we get him on campus it looks like we have our work cut out for us. Getting to a bowl and hopefully LSU getting thumped a few times may go a long way!?! With the way this class is going right now, anything is possible though.
