'14 Juco DT Jarran Reed

sounds positive for the good guys, here. Does landing Reed allow Lambert to stay at DE?

Or does he play DE regardless?

I think lambert could play in the mold of Marlon walls. Play outside on early downs and slide inside on 3rd down for pass rush.

Good question. I'm not sure. He spent a year in prep school I believe which doesn't count against your eligiblity clock, but I dont know if this is his first or 2nd year in a JUCO.

2nd year so he'll have 3 years to play 2. He had a very solid freshman season (35 tackles, 5 TFL in 9 games) at EMCC.

Tennessee continues to recruit the junior college defensive ranks hard and it looks more and more like the Vols are hoping to take two junior college defensive tackles in this signing class.

Obviously, Jarran Reed is a top priority and is very high on the Vols right now, but his recruitment is far from over. One thing that certainly helps the Vols is Reed was accompanied by his mother on the official visit and Knoxville is much closer to his Fayetteville, N.C., home than several other schools he's considering, including Alabama.

While the board right now looks to be Reed, Abu Lamin and Calvin Heurtelou, it wouldn't be surprising to hear of another name or two pop up at defensive tackle from the junior college ranks over the next few weeks as Tennessee continues to aggressively look for the best available.

Does anyone know why McDowdell's stock seems to have dropped so much?
