@allfortennessee: Vols Signee Chris Weatherd*Cleared Vols Signee Chris Weatherd Cleared
Jabo wasn't honest with the staff about the significance of his knee injury. Not only did he have academic issues, he also had a torn ACL that he wasn't truthful about.
The staff placed him at Temple, I believe, after the ordeal. I was thinking about some of the RBs we had recently....
Tom Smith- transferred out
Alden Hill- transferred out
Davante Bourque- Didn't make it through Fall Camp
Q. Watson- processed out
Jabo Lee- ^^ above scenario
DY- bounced around between RB and WR.
With him coming in so late, any chance he red shirts this year? Would be nice to have him for 2 years starting in 2015. We maybe so thin at backer that he is forced into action but I think it would benefit him and the team if he had an extra year to learn and develop.
So why did Weatherd's stats kind of suck in high school/juco? Unusual for a guy with his size, athleticism, and the offers he had to have such underwhelming stats. Just kind of weird.
So tell me why I keep seeing VN talk about him being used as a rush end in certain situations? Maybe come in on a blitz, but not with his hand on the ground.
Now, will he practice with linebackers this year? I'm sure he will. Will he be ready to play there this year after never being a full-time linebacker at any level? That's hard to believe.
I think the quickest way Weatherd sees the field is on special teams and as a pass-rusher in the nickel package. That may look like him standing up and coming off the edge at times.

"If he would have been able to play at juco all of last season and would have been an early enrollee that was the plan, was for him to play linebacker.
But, if you remember, he missed at least half of his season and obviously missed all of spring and that is a lot of time over the past year that he's missed.
Now, will he practice with linebackers this year? I'm sure he will. Will he be ready to play there this year after never being a full-time linebacker at any level? That's hard to believe.

Hope that clarifies a little more the process of why he was originally evaluated as a linebacker but some of that has changed over the year."
