August 1st is first day of practice.

We needed linebacker depth in a big way. Weathered helps a lot

Could see JRM, AJ, and Weathered with Maggit playing some end.

Thanks JAllen. I agree. :good!:

So he will about 20 + days of practice in before the first game?

Just a thought - try not to apply past situations pre-Butch to what happens now. Less surprises and unnecessary drama with Butch. He and his staff do more due diligence in every phase of the program. Butch said it look good a week or two ago. Guess he might know what he was talking about.

I am happy for this kid. Things didn't work the way he planned, but through determination and diligence has realized his dream. This one's on me, Chris. Hope you become a VFL legend!

I was just basing it off the old phrase.

For instance, I started a new job about a month ago. One of my trainers told me that he couldn't stick his finger up his butt for the first month that he worked there... Which means he sucked at his job, I would presume. That's all I meant by it. Didn't think it was that big of a deal. Little did I know....

What he actually meant was there there is a company policy against that act during the first 30 calendar days of said employment...

:)

Alllll Right! Congrats to CW! Feels better than getting a commit! Look forward to seeing this guy clober some people this fall!

I'm glad I get to have a serving of crow for dinner. I hope he's a quick learner because he has to be ready.

The Vols have long been confident on Chris Weatherd handling things academically, and we are told Weather has, indeed, cleared all academic hurdles to gain admittance into UT. The athletic juco linebacker already has transitioned to Knoxville and though he's not working out with his teammates, Weatherd has impressed with his physical conditioning and development.

Additionally, Weatherd has taken the initiative to get with members of the Vols' defensive staff and start diving into the playbook. While it obviously cannot be fully official until classes begin next month, Weatherd appears on track to join the Vols in stride for the 2014 season. In fact, Weatherd was picking the brains of the Vols' coaches Monday afternoon as he pores over the playbook.

Assuming everything unfolds as indicated and Weatherd gains the final formal steps, it will mark the second straight year UT has batted 1.000 on getting signees admitted and onto campus.
