It's a tough business, but Coach has to take the players that will win him the most games. Because in the end, that's how you're evaluated as a coach. Wins and losses.

I think weatherds tweet back, somewhat defending UT, just proves that he ain't going anywhere, gotta be honest never really been worried about him, Lambert worries me a little though.

Also wanna say with nothing official yet on AJ, I personally believe he stays, so our starting LB core could be Weatherd, AJ, Maggitt. With Weatherd being a Top Juco you give him the edge over other new comers, but we got a LB or two that are EEs I know JJ is. But idk who else. So makes me wonder if it gives them an edge since Weatherd doesn't arrive til summer.

AJ could use another year to work on squaring up in the gap with tackling, taking angles and coverage skills on TE's and RB's. If he comes back and improves his draft stock could shoot through the roof since he will flat chase the ball.

According to rumor, Maggitt played a lot of DE in practice this year and was hard to handle. For that reason, I'm wondering if Maggitt will move to DE for the majority of snaps. If so, I think the two deep in the front seven will look something like this: DE: Maggitt/Vereen, DT: O. Williams/Carr, DT: Saulsberry/O'Brien, DE: Lambert/J. Williams, OLB: JRM/Bates, MLB: A.J./Bryant, and OLB: Weatherd/Mohoun.

Unnecessary. I am sure he is a fine young man and Tennessee fans should treat him as such. We are not in a place where we can act like this. We were 5-7 this past year. Just be grateful for our 2014 class and go on our way.

Obviously Booth is frustrated. He really wanted to go to UT. He thought he was getting a chance to play where he wanted. He then had that taken away. He is 17-18 years old. Most adults would handle that situation badly. We really going to take shots at a kid that is upset over that situation? That is pitiful. College football, recruiting especially, is a dirty business. It is what it is. No reason to act like this kids character is defined by this.

Weatherd took an official visit to Tennessee in early September, and he said he has considered taking at least one additional visit “just for the food and the red carpet” that come with most official visits.

“We haven’t scheduled anything yet,” he said. “We chatted briefly on it, with Coach Jancek and my mom. He was like, ‘Well, as long as you stay loyal, then there should be no problem,’ but he wouldn’t recommend me going anywhere. I told them we were thinking about it.

“My mom’s all Tennessee. She wants me to get away from home, basically. A&M’s, like, two hours away, and Tennessee’s 12 hours away, so she wants that one, of course.”

“My thing about Tennessee is it just feels like home because I’ve been up there so much, and all the love the coaches give me,” Weatherd said. “They actually care about you. I feel comfortable with Coach (Butch) Jones. I talk to him on a daily basis, almost. I don’t think anybody else checks up on you as much as he does just to tell you he loves you or something like that. ... I just think that place right there is right for me.”

there needs to be an early signing period for kids who are making decisions earlier and earlier, we could include a caveat or addendum to the early signing period contingent to coaching changes...call it a soft signing period. dont worry the ncaa would find a way to overcomplicate this and totally **** it up.

basically for our legacies they should be able to sign early. flame away.

That's a front seven that should be an improvement from last season, especially at the OLB and DE positions. Maggit reminds me of Leonard Little, fast enough to play LB and big enough to play DE. Maggit could be a real monster at DE.

I think King plays behind AJ. King is a very good Athlete and has had a year to learn the LB position.

The key statement from Jancek. Stay loyal and do not go anywhere. ie: Don't take visits but if you do, then don't expect us to hold your scholarship if we come across someone else.
