That's a little ridiculous factoring in the offers he had. I don't think Mahoney is that bad in developing, he has done it well with others at different schools. Maybe he just doesn't have the mental makeup they thought he did

That would factor into the evaluating part.

If that happens, it means Mahoney is either a bad evaluator or bad developer. Would be an embarrassment and probably hurt recruiting in the future somewhat.

Tough pill to swallow. I'm not going to go down that road just yet, but we need to land a Richmond type prospect soon. I think our o-line recruiting is lacking the most compared to the rest of our positions, but I'm not going to be going down the road of lets fire Mahoney just yet. I can't say that I haven't talked about it with a close friend from a family heavily involved with UT. They seam to think Mahoney is the weak link in CBJ's Cincy coaching staff, and have stated this from day 1. It also hurts that we had to let Sam Pittman go, but you have to let CBJ run this show. Mahoney has been with CBJ the whole ride, so that will be a hard rode for CBJ to have to go down if need be. I also question Elder's STs abilities, but I also know CBJ considers ST an entire coaching staff task. Still, it may be helpful to have a great ST coach, but Elder seams to be doing great with Wolf and Helm so we don't want to lose him by any means.

Lol this thread.

Not trying to encite a riot. I have connections with the program on various levels, both old and new. They give me info and I pass it along. Pretty sure that's the point of a message board. I've been on this site for years. Lost my old log in info and just started over.

On topic, it's too early to label Blair a bust but he's at least a year away from contributing.

On Mahoney, it's no secret that he's the weak link when it comes to recruiting. Raulerson will soon be recruited over, as will Blair. Stewart will be a solid run blocker but will struggle with pass protection. These were his three favorites.

If you don't want my info just ignore me lol

Instead of learning he was getting in shape? You can't learn and get in shape at the same time?

"Top JUCO OT in the country goes to UT and redshirts... Is that what you want to happen to you?" That will be the recruiting pitch of every other SEC coach.

Just recalling what was posted on VN. He was apparently BADLY out of shape. Go back and look at some of his pics prior to committing. To me, he looked more like a Biggie Smalls clone than a football player.

I'm a Crowder fan so biased but... I Tivo'd the 2nd half due to work and I didn't see Mack miss a block. Period. I don't get some of the grief. I know just a little more than the average oline football junkie. .. Maybe the 1st half was different ... Every snap looked good. I don't know who would've graded out better.

Mack snaps the ball better than anyone on the team which is why he starts. Hes just on the small size and is maxed out at 280-285. He doesn't come up out of his snaps as fast as the coaches would like and he lacks an edge. Solid player but not All-SEC.

Blair is the one who came in out of shape...thats on Blair and no one else... now by all reports, he has come a long way during the fall, but the ground he had to make up evidently was too much...

I don't disagree, but learning and getting in shape aren't mutually exclusive.

Best thing I've read today lol

Keep it coming man. I know a few people who are big donors who have some inside info on the program too. I never get recruiting info on guys who aren't commits, but everything you have provided I have heard word for word as well. I was told that Blair wouldn't play here as a LT before he ever got on campus. I was also told his JuCo team played no one, and I was provided links to prove it. I made the mistake of sharing the info just to get bashed about 6 months ago. It is what it is man. Keep the info coming. It's greatly appreciated.

this guy just said they are SEC caliber because they are starting for an SEC team. notorious, my man, you are delisional. The only SEC caliber starter on that line is Roberterson. that's not debatable at all. for a zone blocking scheme, the kids have to be ATHLETIC. and yes, changing a blocking scheme to have 2, not just one SEC caliber on the line, is not crazy but in the best interest. I mean my god, you guys are coming at me like I'm crazy but yet I'm the most logical one in this thread.

Not every recruit works out. That includes JUCO guys.

You know changing the blocking scheme ruins half the offense right

Yeah that wasn't me buddy. I'm the one that said a few of our guys weren't. Nice try though.

The people who gave you the 16 likes on this site should be b**** slapped. The only thing not debatable is your lack of understanding in the meaning of the word logic.

doesn't sound like a bad idea am I right? screw the zone read bullish and go with a more downhill pistol look. that would fit our guys so much better rather than sticking with something that doesn't work because. it's about adapting to your best players my man.

but yet you forgot to explain your reasoning for such a hateful remark? haha your funny bro really a badass IMO

I know Kendricks brother is in here and I thought he played well Saturday and the coaches are high on him. I think he's a better fit on the right side. But that's just my opinion. The sooner Kerbyson gets back inside the better.

I know. Worley has done so terrible in this offense this year. You don't think it has anything to do with Butch inheriting a terrible offensive line to begin with?

My personal opinion of who we should start on Saturday isn't the same as the coaching staff. I'd go:
Kendrick
Jackson
Kerbyson
Robertson
Thomas

honestly, the offensive line was solid af last year and the run game still struggled against good teams. to run their system you need a dual threat. point blank. I love the staff but bajakian is the only cat I still haven't bought into.

Everyone needs to stop hating on everyone in this thread. If you want to hate, how about hating on the dumba** that thought not signing a single OL in one class was a good idea. He's the one that deserves the blame and hate.

This system has been EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL without a "dual threat" with other teams though
