And let's just ignore what Antonio Davis says about how he dominates in practice. We have two guys on left side going two on one and both do not even touch him yet sanders would be worse than that. If so, let's just send him packing because he would never get on the field if he is that bad.

LMAO... first of who is this Antonio you speak of? Secondly that is what he said in fall camp. Not recently. Not to mention, nobody in here is saying Sanders will not be good. I was only addressing people using the OL performance at end of the UTC game as some type of evidence that 2nd teamers on OL are better than 1st teamers.

Speculation here...

Maybe coach Jones is redshirting him because he thinks he needs him in 15 and 16. And he didn't think this year would be as bad as it would be, but with Gilliam getting hurt, who knows. Maybe Gilliam actually beat Blair to start with and that feed into the decision. maybe Coach Jones is putting his eggs in the 15 and 16 basket, however hindsight is 20/20. We'll see if it pays off.

Sounds like he's red shirting.

What burn a red shirt for 2 wins that we will get anyway, just sounds crazy somehow get thru next week without any more OL going down, we got a good chance at winning 3 out of the last 4, Kentucky showed what they are, Mizz scored 28 on there special teams and D, there score looked good but they didn't have 175 yards total on offence, The SC game we got a good shot, you know the Vandy game is a sure win, even as bad as it looks. we can get on a roll and finish at 6 and 6 and little bowl, plus that will hold our recruiting class together.

Well put, we are building for 15 and 16, we are OLE MISS IN 16.:clapping: in other words we will be doing what OLE MISS is doing this year in 16, we are TENNESSEE.

There were the same sentiments about Jancek last year...guess the SEC in his blood upped it's count. Jake and Mahoney are Butch's guys...success that he's had bear their fingerprints...they suddenly can't coach?...if that's true " reevaluating" won't take much time.

Agreed. Instead of re-evaluating coaches, let's focus more on player development and recruiting of the offensive line. Last year's O-line along with this year's version of Worley and the defense and we would be 5-2 heading into the Bama game.

Blair isn't playing because he sucks. Period. He is a total bust. The whole point of a JUCO player is to have an instant impact. Nobody goes that route with the intent to redshirt the player.

Kid probably never lifted a single weight. Give it time people. All the other top JUCO linemen aren't doing too much better

I do not have first hand knowledge but, as several posters have already stated, I believe Blair is being red-shirted this year in order to have him at his best in 2015 and 2016. I think he came in out of shape, has had trouble adjusting to the speed of the SEC game, and potentially the offensive scheme (such as it is) eludes him still.

Obviously, if he were truly excellent, he would be playing right now. If, however, he were an absolute bust, he would've gotten some time against UTC, etc., so we could move him through the program as quickly as possible rather than him taking up a scholarship for three years with a redshirt. The idea of the redshirt indicates to me that CBJ, et al., think he can contribute in a year's time and may be a starter his jr. and sr. seasons.

We need him to RS. This years goal is to make a bowl. Nothing else. If he RS then we have him for 2 more years. Cannot waste a year just yonder what he looks like. Y

Agreed. We are past the point of no return now. To me another year of experience for the current guys playing and Blair redshirting will solve a lot of these issues we are seeing. It's a long term project. So the instant gratification fans need to chill out and quit using their limit knowledge on a sport most of them never played to loudly voice their unfounded opinions.

Agreed. Why RS him and save his eligibility if he was a bust? Simple math.

Next year we will have a more experienced line overall with more depth by RSing him. With the addition of Mosley and the freshmen the outlook is bright. Add the element of mobility to the QB position and look out. I like what CBJ 3 year plan looks like on paper.

Pretty much what I've been trying to tell people for weeks. Hopefully the year off will help Dobbs as well. I think he can have a lot of success in this offense if he would become more accurate throwing the ball.

If Blair can become a starter next year, that will shuffle out while line for the better. IMO

That gives other guys a chance to move into their natural positions.

Yea I think that's right on. Curious how much conditioning is Mosely able to do with his leg healing up? I see next years O line taking this years D line spot as most improved unit. And D line goes to an even more improved level.
