Or because he isn't benching as much weight as we'd like. Good grief. Bama's Outland Trophy winner, Andre Smith (back in 2009) had a poor bench for a man his size and for an OL projected to go early in the 1st Rd. 19 reps. There are running backs and linebackers with more than that.Butch cannot afford to lose games because he wants to redshirt players.

Not playing Blair has been a damn disaster. He would have been better than anyone else we have...including Gilliam. We could have kept Kerbyson at RT, and had we played Weisman at C, we would have been decent. Enough to win the UGA and UF games.
I'm all for CBJ long term, but this is one decision I think they are dead wrong on. And the results of this season are bearing that out. Sitting a JUCO OT with a 5* offer list....because he's not as strong in the weight room as we'd like. Good f-ing grief! :banghead2:
I'm saying that he would have been the best LT we have and that would let Kerbyson stay at RT. I ALSO said if Weisman was playing C instead of Crowder...with those two changes, we would have had a decent OL.So, you're saying that Blair is the difference in the season thus far?

One player can indeed make a difference in a game of inches. This year our Achilles heel has been the OL. With just a modicum of improvement we win 2 more games and are 5-2 going into today's game
They didn't even TRY to play Paul Harris....just like they didn't try to play Dobbs until injury forced them to. Now their evaluations have really come into question.Kinda like if they would have played Paul Harris last year, we would have been throwing it all over the place?
Have you not learned that "measurables" are not the basis for people getting playing time?
.like your opinion is fact? Dobbs was the 3RD STRING QB. The coaches botched that evaluation, too. I was among those who have been saying since Spring that Dobbs should be the starter. The main reason is...he fits their offense better. That was clear in the Spring and last night. If anyone is clueless, it's boneheads who think like you, that continuously bashed Dobbs. And like you, they can....Don't waste your time man.
Dobbs was the 3RD STRING QB. The coaches botched that evaluation, too. They recruited Blair heavily, so they either botched their recruiting evaluations, or they are botching it by not playing him now. Even good coaches make some bad decisions. That's why their continues to be so much coaching turnover every year. Cause they are indeed fallible.
That logic doesn't even jive with Butch's own words...Butch didn't botch the Dobbs thing. Fans need to learn to take whatever Butch says with a grain of salt. He knew Dobbs was the best QB behind Worley but there was no way he was taking the reins of this team from a senoir Worley. Worley goes down and he has no choice but to play Dobbs to reach his goal of a bowl.
As to Blair, he's good. Wait till next year, you'll see. Butch is allocating resources. Blair was no better than others but he has greater potential so why play him.
