Now we need a 2nd OT and we might be good on the OL next year. Jackson and Kerby at OG would probably be a solid lineup. Anyone else think Weisman takes over for Crowder for good?

I'd think it would really depend on how he looks the next 2-3 games. He'll definitely have his chance. I'd guess the coaches had Crowder in there as the starter for a reason. We'll see how it goes.

Having a hard time trusting them after keeping Dobbs out haha. I'm just hoping he tears it up like Dobbs did and Crowder doesn't get the job back.

With how it's played out now, I would start Blair at RT next year. He's best suited there anyways. The kids a great run blocker. He was in Juco. He's really athletic for a guy his size, and he'll get down field and block in the run game. I'd keep Kerbs at LT, and move Blair to LT in 2016. Hopefully by then Kendrick, Jones, Thomas, etc can take over RT. I still think Thomas is our best option for a long term C solution, but we will see. It'd be awesome if Thomas could get a redshirt and come 2016 be competing for the starting C position, with Weisman being his only competition.

I agree with Coleman Thomas. He probably is our next center. IMO, next year, we should put Kerbyson back at his natural guard position, Blair at LT, Crowder at Center, and fill in the blanks with Kendrick, Weisman, Thomas, Raulerson, Mosley, Weisman, Sanders, juco player or a surprisingly ready freshman for the other guard and tackle positions.

I think the offense looked just fine with Crowder in there after Dobbs came in. I would be fine with either of them playing though. I think both will end up being great players on the OL.

Dont forget that Jackson returns next year too

Further proof they are happy with blairs progress is the Coleman Thomas to center switch has already been made in practice. Maybe that's just because the Crowder injury and then you will still see Thomas rep T in spring but it seems like they prefer he be a center

If we can score with this offensive line class, we will finally see some much needed depth!

We need to lock down our state next year. We need to try to obtain Bryum and Mathews next year to go along with Jonhson IMO. That'd be three big boys on the OL. I'd then try to obtain the best out of state OL I could, and then maybe try to obtain the best JuCo OT I could. That's give us in 2016:

LT: Blair/JuCo/Hall
LG: Sanders or Kendrick/Boulware
C: Weisman/Thomas/Ray
RG: Robertson/Stewart or Mosely
RT: JuCo/Kendrick/Hall/Jones

Now, POA brought up an interesting scenario for next year. If Kerbs goes back to right guard, then Robertson and Thomas could both get a very needed RS year. I really like that idea, but it'll be totally dependent upon staying healthy.

I'm assuming you'd have a depth chart of this for next year for this to occur:

LT: Blair/Kerbs
LG: Jackson/Sanders
C: Crowder/Wesiman/Ray
RG: Kerbs/Wesiman or Sanders/Mosely
RT: Kendrick/Kerbs/Blair

That could work if everyone stays healthy. I wonder if Sanders could play RT if need be? Him and Kendrick are really best suited at G, but both played T in high school. That way if Kendrick, etc went down we wouldn't have to blow Thomas' RS next year.

I would do this one:

LT: Kendrick
LG: Jackson
C: Crowder/Weisman
RG: Kerbyson/Robertson
RT: Blair

I'd try my best to redshirt Robertson, so I might put Sanders there.

For those that have not seen Ryan Johnson play or his highlights please watch them. This is a future road grader at tackle. Will be hard to keep off the field as a freshman.

Is he athletic enough to play LT? I know he pays right in high school, but that could be because Matthews is also very good and plays on the left side.

Depends on how he developesthe next 2 or 3 years. He's got a huge frame and isn't thru growing yet.I think he will be a great RT for sure. He's absolutely huge.6.7 about 280 and looks lean.

It would be nice to land Matthews too. Texas A&M will be tough to beat there though.

Only hope there IMO is that A&M waited to offer him. They lost another OT to Baylor before they extended the offer to Matthews. Hopefully that helps UT get him.

Maybe Sumlin decides to go elsewhere between now and the time Matthews signs. That might help. I agree that the chances are slim though.

I don't know about that. Just before he got hurt, I saw him get flat blown up by the DT, and nearly caused a sack. He got abused in the UtahSt and Ark St games, too.

I've never really been sold on Crowder. He's rather smallish for an SEC OL. Looks like the kind of player you'd see on Tennessee Tech's roster, rather than Univ of Tennessee.

LT - Blair
LG - Jackson
C - Crowder/Weisman/Thomas/Raulerson
RG - Kerbyson/Robertson
RT - Kendrick/Thomas
What a lot of folks are forgetting is that Charles Mosley may well get moved to OL in the Spring. Part of me wants to see him stay at DT, where he and K-Mac would be hell on opposing offenses. But with Tuttle coming in, as an EE, too...that could allow us to move Mosley to OL. However, to keep up with the Bama's and UGA's, we need 4 hosses at DT, if we can. We've had to play Jordan Williams way too many snaps. Picou might not be ready and we don't know what Sawyer's situation is.
