like his size, especially if he can truly play all three guard positions, imagine a 6'5 point, sweetness.

I think he'll share some time at PG. BTW, Thompson was our former 6'5 PG, but not nearly as athletic. Seems like Baulkman had solid assist numbers though.

I love what Tyndall has done so far with recruiting. For all intents and purposes he has brought in an equal or greater (at least for his system) class than Cuonzo AND he has upgraded existing roster spots. However this one is a bit of head scratcher. Feels alot like a Cuonzo player. Obviously Tyndall has a comfort level with this guy and his system needs "system" guys. Obviously he gets a pass considering he has had only 3 weeks to put a class together. Maybe this guy is a safety valve up the PG spot behind Chiles.

I still think we get Owens, Chiles, and Carmichael and call it a day and then he lands a top 25 class next year :)

I missed the Ellis news. So would you say Owens along with the other two I mentioned could all three come in together to round things out?

Chiles, Carmichael and Owens are all Vol IMO.

Pops is gone as well IMO, bringing the number to 12 scholarship players.

They may save the scholarship, may try to land an impact transfer who will have to sit out a year, or maybe someone comes open late in the game.

He was saying that EricVol probably meant to say Owens instead of Ellis when listing our potential last few scholarships. Carmichael, Chiles, and OWENS. Not Carmichael, Chiles, and Ellis.

Gotcha. Sorry bout that. Must have just misread the post

Makes no sense unless they're getting worried about Mostella.

Its definitely got the feel of a roster filler. Also probably means no go with Mitchell or any of the other PGs we were looking to get involved with.

Which is the only reason I really question it at all. Seems like a guy who wasn't all that sought after who is a 2/3. He's gonna be competing with Richardson,Hubbs, Mostella and Punter for minutes at those spots. He's only got 2 years of eligibility which 3 of those guys do as well.

Like I said I'll let it play out, but on the surface I think I would've just saved the scholarship for next year.

So this would be another commitment who did not set foot on campus? CDT continues killing it. It's not very often you see a nearly and entire basketball roster restocked in a month.

Keep it up Donnie Knoxville!:loco:

I've always pronounced Devon Dev-un and Baulkman Balk-mun. Never had any complaints from folks with either of those names. In any case, I'm glad to see that Donnie's still able to find players that fit his system in spite of the current dearth of candidates. It'll be interesting to see who he brings in next. Hopefully, one or more of them will be a natural point guard.

I am with you on this one BTO, however if Pops or Reese moves on than this one may make a little more sense as we would still have some room to pick up a PG or 2 and another big.

I think it does to you, but I don't think it does to CDT. CDT wants kids that want to be here, he wants kids that are mentality and physically tough. We can expect him to go deep into the bench and just not sit there and watch.

Again another player that will cause some unusual match-up problems....and will contribute immediately.

I'm more looking at next year. If the intention is that Baulkman can run the point then that makes sense. But if he's a 2/3 guy that's gonna fill the role of Dmontre Edwards I don't really get it.
