'14 MD LB Jerome Dews (UT Commit 6/24)

Ha awesome. Indoor track has really grown here in NC in the past 10 years though many smaller schools especially dont have it.

I don't take meds on any level. But I'm always down to get kicked in the crotch.

Similarly, Young Dews will be kicking opposing players in the crotch while wearing orange. Figuratively speaking, of course.

Is this how one admits to being a masochist in a round about way?

Love this photo.

I am so happy for the family. Will be paying close attention to Jerome's progress. Thanks, MDO. You have made his recruitment process special for all of us. :hi:

MDO, the exciting part about your son will be watching him physically mature a d catch up with guys that have always been older and bigger. When he graduates im predicting 6'5, 245-255 de with speed and athleticism. Those guys make a ton of money in the nfl. Jerome reminds me a grest deal of a kid over here in NC named Denico Autry that matured like this. And denico was at least a year older. Hey and emmanuel moseley has already gained close to 10 pounds. Ca t wait til your son gets on the UT training table.

Vanna, may I get an N please...

And to that one person in this thread who said Dews is too light to play LB in the SEC... It seems Emmanuel Moseley has gained 18 pounds since arriving as an EE.

They will do the same thing with Dews and he will be a beast as long as he puts in the work.

I can't wait to watch this young man progress through our program. I expect he will be a big contributor in a couple of years. I'm glad he's VFL.

I dont know what it is, but i have a feeling this kid is going to do big things at Tennessee. His attitude and overall handling of the recruiting process is highly commendable. He is well spoken in interviews and seems to have a boat-load of potential. Welcome aboard Jerome! I am pulling for you big guy!

I am so looking forward to seeing Jerome take the field in Orange & White in Neyland Stadium.

Great. He will be close by. He can use the fitness facilities at his school in Atlanta. And most importantly, he will still be a freshman when he comes to UT next January.

Was hoping he would be able to come to campus right away and just redshirt. But I commend him for being a team player. I'm with a couple other in this thread, I think Jerome will be a good player for us down the road after he puts on the weight and gets coached up. The coaches offers him after seeing him with their own eyes at camp, tells me all I need to know about what type of potential he possesses.

As someone who went to college at Jerome's age and that has coached numerous talented players that were young like this, I cant over emphasize just how smart a move this is for the young man. He will enter Tennessee next Dec.some much more mature, and I would guess at around 6'4, 6'5 and 220-225. This decision will pay off big time down the road for the young man and the Vols. Outstanding decision and welcome again Mr Dews and Jerome and family to the Vol Nation!

"He tweeted out that he will spend the fall semester at the Atlanta Sports Academy, it's a prep school, in an attempt to gray-shirt.

As we'e said all along, this one never seemed to be cut and dry.

Tennessee won't sign him with an NLI."
