There's a big difference between "the coaching staff thinks they're in good shape" to "silent commit".

Not necessarily. There have been many, many guys over the years who have silently committed who ended up changing their minds and going somewhere else.

I would also venture to say that attending Tennessee football games makes you more crazy.

People pay for the things that they love. For every prospect that VQ can't get an inside read on, there's 10 other prospects that they CAN get an inside read on. The fact that they don't have anything on Scott at the moment doesn't make their product worthless.

100,000 people went to Neyland to watch Dooley get tossed around by Alabama in his last season. All of them knew we were going to lose, but hey, it's their money right?

Not flaming you or anything, just hate that paying for a subscription to VQ or 247 gets such a bad rep around here, especially when there's posters that stalk those sites, waiting for a new article to be posted so that they can come back over here, post a link, and write "cliffs?".

I offered the disclaimer "Its your money." If that's what you want to do go for it. I was just mearly pointing out that there is a limit to what they can know. It is recruiting and there is no true crystal ball. Do I enjoy reading what Ron and others post from there? Sure I do but those that worship them as soothsayers are in for some disappointment from my experience of following the last 10 or so cycles.

You still have to be a paying member to ask said question right? You are paying to ask people questions that don't know anymore than you do but hey its your money.

If you have 4k posts on here, that means to me that you love Vols football.

Quite honestly, $10/month is probably the best value you could spend following the Vols through Volquest. Those guys are easily the best source of news and insight in the biz.

I go back and forth on whether VQ or VN has a better forum overall, but I definitely think the experience of Volquest is worth $10/month.

I agree, they're not always kept 100% in the loop. They are, however, right more than they are wrong.

Thus, the entertainment value is there, and I would recommend VQ to anyone, but I do see where you're coming from.

Cheers.

I don't see $120 a year getting me any more info than I get right here but I may be wrong.

I loved the old Gridscape days and I've followed Vol recruiting since the 80's when Forrest Bamaman Davis and Bill King were the only sources.

Now you have to pay for any Vol content from a newspaper on up. I think I'm out of the demographic again......

I find it funny some on here acting like we are recruiting Scott because we are worried about Hurd and Paulk, actually we are recruitng him because we need quality depth there. Depth is important, and I'm talking quality depth. And yes, I feel like Scott will be a VOL. GO BIG ORANGE!!!

If Spurrier doesn't plan on retiring soon, why did he only add one year on his last extension a week ago?

I think believability of the two coaches (Butch & Stevie) has to be a factor here. Butch is still fairly young and has the visual appearance of someone that's going to be coaching for a long time and can easily claim that he's at his dream job. Stevie looks like someone that needs to be playing shuffleboard at the retirement home and he goes in the recruits house without his manbra on and gets snickers from the family and his dream job is on the golf course. That would be easy for me to figure out.

Skeeter popped in and said "Vol". What does that mean to you?

I believe that skeeter knows what the coaches know. The coaches may be wrong in what they know. It's that simple.

He came into the adoree thread last night and when asked about Scott he said he hasn't heard anything different and that he had told the coaches he was a Vol. he could always change his mind of course but sounds good.

Perhaps you can explain why someone who projects such a lame appearance has won (what?) eleven games each of the last three seasons? Think of Spurrier as a brighter Bobby Bowden before creeping senility robbed Bobby of his charm. Because SOS doesn't recruit that hard, the visits he does make are more appreciated.

On a different note, it is unfortunate that UF didn't get on Scott earler. It appears that UT offers the right system for Scott and USC offers the right depth chart. UF now offers both, but the relationship isn't there so we apparently have no chance with a RB that we really need.

UT doesnt have the right depth chart? look again

carolina does have Mike Davis who will prob be gone after this yr just as Marlin Lane will. They have Brandon Wilds who is steady, a former 5.7 3 star shon carson and 4 star david williams..they also have sophomore and former 4 star RB Pharoah cooper. Cooper is listed as a WR but he gets some carries too. they def have some talent there...heard carson is contemplating a transfer but not sure.
