Video interview with scout:

-Ultimately, he chose UT because of the "people." Had a good vibe with the players, but mostly felt that the coaches would push him best to get the most out of them. He also liked out coaches because they really have a positive outlook on life (suck it old man Spurrier).

- Likes how CBJ's players always put out their best effort for him and wants to play for a coach like that

- Coach G relationship was important. Thinks he is an outgoing guy that will get the most out of him

- When asked what type of player UT fans were getting, he replied, "hungry." Said in everything he will do, he will put max effort.

- To the fans of Knoxville, he said "GBO Baby!", and grinned from ear to ear

Well spoken and humble kid. Going to be a good one
Love this.

THIS is what has impressed me most about this class.

Butch seems to be recruiting kids that, for the most part, have some serious football IQ and a 'let's get to work' mentality.

In other words, you don't see us going after the Da'Ricks, Nukeeses, and Markeith Ambles of the world anymore - couldn't be happier about it!

That honestly surprised me. I thought there would be a few cheers, but that was flat out loud.

It did me too. I figure part of it is his friends and classmates being happy for him, but I think the perception of Tennessee has changed, this may be the first good glimpse of it.

I believe you may be right. Part of the reason I was surprised it was so loud, was because I thought he was from South Carolina, not NC. Still very impressive though.

good lord this kid has a jump cut that few possess... downright nasty
change of direction and loses absolutely no speed when he does it...

I am excited to have this young man in the backfield...

Just as a reminder of the abilities:

Kid has some sick moves.

I'm late to the party, but huge boom! This staff is amazing and this class is just straight up nasty from top to bottom.

First time I've seen his Sr highlights. Wow! The thing that really stands out to me the most after watching him, other than his obvious speed and quickness, is his vision. Kid has excellent vision. You just can't coach things like that.

I remember thinking the exact same thing watching A Foster his Fr year at UT. Difference is Scott is waaaay more of a home run threat than Foster ever was. Add the speed, quickness, and that vision he has up and this kid could do special things at UT. What a RB class!

So pumped about the talent influx we're getting with this class. Do we even have any "diamond in the rough" recruits in this class like doofus used to be infamous for? I can't think of any. Great day to be a Vol!

Adoree is gonna end up being the cherry on top of this class. It's like it's simply meant to end that way. Get ready for the biggest boom of all on nsd when espn shows our staff going ape shat when AJ puts on the orange. It's happening. Butch is a machine. Love it.

I don't like to make comparisons but watching Derrell Scott on film he reminds me of Charlie Garner. Scott doesn't appear to be quite as fast as Garner was in college but his cuts and footwork do appear to be comparable. Not in any way saying Scott will be as good as Charlie Garner just that they appear to have very similar styles. Garner was 5'10 about 190 and Scott is 5'10.5 about 182 atm.
