I haven't see the kid except in the highlights, but does his frame have room to pack on more and possibly get to a low 200?

I haven't commented on landing him yet. Not only a huge pickup but a huge statement recruit for Gillespie. Just huge. Going into NC and pulling a kid that was believed to be all but a lock to SC with ties there and his family wanting him there...very very impressive. Like I said before I think Butch and Thig need 1 maybe 2 more guys who can really make a difference on the recruiting trail and it seems like Gillespie has that potential.

Yeah, then we might be able to get a decent recruiting class.

:)

Gillespie has really come on. He has turned into one of the top 3 recruiters. Really did well with Scott and had us leading for Williams before LSU came calling. I think Elder is coming on strong as well. Landing Barnett, Henderson, Helm, and Wolf is a good pull.

LOL You know what I mean.... I hope. Thig is an elite recruiter and always has been but to expect him to bring in 10-12 of your Top 15 or so recruits every single year is a very tall task to ask of one coach.

I agree. Elder has had a good solid year as well. No question about it. I really want to see someone who can really do damage in NC and VA going forward. Those are states that are loaded with talent, close in proximity and typically the top kids look to go out of state.

Who would you put there tho? They have had success the past years sending the players position coach there. like coach Az for North and G for Scott. I mean if you had to pick G just pulled one from there so just let him set up camp.

It's hard to say. Thigpen would be perfect in NC with all his ties there, but you dont want to move him from the mid-state now with all the talent coming out of there in the future years and the great relationships he has already established.

As far as the current staff goes I would think you're right, they'll continue to send the position coaches into those states. It would be great if Coach G could really develop some strong relationships over there and be the man for that state.

I know. There will be no need to recruit the grandson in my avi. He was one-year old, wearing the Vol jersey on the field at Neyland. He does need a little coaching. It's obvious his 3-point stance could be improved.

VA please. Its crazy how much talent comes from such a small area.

I was trying to think of a comparison for Scott and Jamaal Charles is what I came up with.

As far as skillset, IMO, they are similar. Home run threat type RBs, very elusive, ability to make defenders miss, and both can catch it really well coming out of the backfield.

Except Charles was an elite track runner (10.18 100m) and Scott is a 4.6 guy.
