a acl injury takes typicaly 6-9 months to heal after surgery. i think his best bet would redshirt this year and make sure he is ready.

If Paulk can go, let him go. No reason to tell a kid to wait if he is 95-100% when he gets to campus. Different people heal at different rates. If the kid busts his butt to be ready, I say let him play.

We are still short on depth at RB. Right now we have Lane, Hurd, Justus and Scott coming in (that could possibly be SEC calibur). 3 of those guys we have never seen play at UT. And 2 of those guys have never played in college. If Paulk is ready we could use him. jmo

Yoked.

InB4 ...
Way to skinny and short to be a RB. Other RB recruit is too tall and skinny.

He missed the UGA game looking over the stats. I vaguely remember now, but what was the injury?

Ankle, IIRC.

But this says "foot."

Yep. After I tore mine it took around 8-9 months to get my doctor's approval for full go. The rehab was so hard to get back to where I was. But I feel like for most people it takes a year to be fully comfortable again with your knee. Though mine still pops when I get up, I'm not afraid to go all out in sports now.

Most of the time it takes two years on an ACL to get to the where there is no subconscious protection going on - especially at skill positions. AD was the exception. Justin Hunter was more the rule. It even impacted his pass catching skills because he subconsciously changed what he normally did naturally to protect his knee. It's up to Paulk and UT, but having been through it I would prefer to see him RS. He can get his reps in practice to build it all back.

With Scott coming in they can afford that luxury now IMO.

Scott has been hand timed at 4.34 and 4.39 on the same run. He has been timed at a Rivals camp at 4.55. He has been laser timed twice at 4.62 and 4.72. He is generally considered to be a 4.55 to 4.6 guy. However his real threat is his ability to not lose speed when he puts on pads, and to cut on a dime without loss of speed. This allows him to appear to be gliding through a maze much like LeSean McCoy. It is believed his game will translate well to the college level for these reasons. Looking forward to seeing him play for our Vols !

I was trying to think of a comparison for Scott and Jamaal Charles is what I came up with.

As far as skillset, IMO, they are similar. Home run threat type RBs, very elusive, ability to make defenders miss, and both can catch it really well coming out of the backfield.

He doesn't have nearly the speed Charles has. He was a track star with very rare speed, he's one of the fastest RBs in the NFL. Scott reminds me of a McCoy or Giovani Bernard
