SC 247
Defensive line coach Deke Adams will hit some of his recruiting territories tomorrow as well and one of his stops will be to see class of 2014 four-star running back Derrell Scott (Havelock, N.C./Havelock). The Gamecocks will book end his Florida official and Tennessee in-home with tomorrow's stop and the Steve Spurrier in-home next week. While it currently looks like Spurrier will get the last in-home -- and he certainly will out of favorites Tennessee and South Carolina -- it's not yet been determined if or when Florida head coach Will Muschamp will make an in-home visit. Florida actually landed a running back last week, and while we're told that the Gators have told Scott they're definitely taking another one, word from the Florida side is that they may or may not. This remains primarily a South Carolina-Tennessee battle with the Volunteers likely holding the current edge. I've chatted when someone close to Scott at length twice this week, though, and was told that he truly hasn't made a final decision yet.

Sounds good. Git heem.

interesting. I was wondering if Florida would have an in-home. This makes you believe they may not be all that serious about landing him.

Wow. SCe writers are even acknowledging that UT probably leads.

Thats great but i would much rather have his position coach recruiting him rathet than someone not even on his side og the ball

I like our chances with Scott

But with recruiting you know how it works....it's usually more about who you know in the kids circle more so than position coach/kid relationship.

I'm told that running backs coach Robert Gillespie is visiting with Derrell Scott today in Havelock, N.C. Not sure whether Gillespie also is planning to see Darrel Williams in Louisiana later in the day or that visit maybe has been pushed back by a day or two. - 247

Yeehaw!

Sometimes it can be. I think it just depends on how impressionable the kid is. I have seen some guys commit over a year early and never budge and I have seen some commit to 3+ schools during the process, because eating up everything they are saying.

Building that relationship with the guy that will be coaching you is certainly a positive for us though. Someone that will be directly involved with your development is more important than someone that is on the other side of the ball.

"Quick note on Derrell Scott announcement...

As it's already been reported, he will make his announcement between Tennessee, South Carolina and Florida on Jan. 27. It will take place at his school and the time has been set for 3:15.

Jones will be in-home the week before as will Steve Spurrier."

If someone could send a carrier pigeon to my cruise ship to let me know if he committed, I'd appreciate it. I have no desire to pay the Internet fees.

On analysts' CB picks to USCe for Scott:

3. Most of those Crystal Ball picks were made before Tennessee emerged as perhaps the team to beat. I'm on the verge of changing my pick, and I'm sure others soon might start to do the same if UT continues to build momentum with Scott.

While also stating I'm too cheap to pay for Internet. Is that what they call a "humble brag?"
