There is an ignore function if one dislikes some posters on the board. I like to hear other fan base poster's perspectives. I am grown enough to judge for myself if someone is trolling or not and I can ignore that poster if I want. If you pay them no attention then they'll go away eventually.

It's impossible to tell how kids will turn out, but I wouldn't be surprised if this kid is our starting running back by the end of the season. I don't know what it is about him, but I really like this kid. Hope he is a Vol.

We'll I hope he's a vol too if he's gonna be starting as our running back.:) jk kid does look legit tho.

Four-star RB Derrell Scott made his official visit to Florida over the weekend and I spoke with multiple sources recently to get a gauge on his recruitment , which is now in the final week with Scott due to announce on January 27.

Going into the trip to Gainesville, I was told that the Gators would have to blow Scott away to get up there with South Carolina and Tennessee, the two programs that have been the primary contenders. According to what I've heard, that did not happen. In addition to that, it appears that while it was thought that Florida may take another running back in this class it does not look like the Gator staff is going to push for Scott anyways which leaves the Gamecocks and Vols to do battle for him down the stretch.

This week, as I've been saying for weeks, is the key one in Scott's recruitment. No matter where things stand in his head right now, he's going to finalize a decision within the week and the two in-home visits will be very important. On Wednesday, it's Vol head coach Butch Jones and running backs coach Robert Gillespie a minimum. Perhaps Tennessee sends the offensive coordinator as well but we don't know that for sure. USC gets the last in-home on Thursday with Deke Adams, Everette Sands, and Steve Spurrier. Tennessee has surely picked up momentum in the past several weeks with Scott, but USC is still definitely in there and to me it's too close to call. Yes, I'm aware that Tennessee's staff has some confidence but so does South Carolina. I spoke with multiple sources on Monday who did not have a good feel for what he's going to do. As I said, regardless of where things are at today it could change down the stretch.

Expect Tennessee to hit on early playing time/depth chart, the future of the program, the facilities/tradition, the age of Steve Spurrier and the like during the in-home. Expect South Carolina to try to clear up the depth chart situation in Columbia at running back, hit on comfort level, the direction of the program, distance from home and the like. We will keep everyone posted as to what we hear later in the week, but I think it's too close to call either way.

People have been saying that and attempting to use that as a negative recruiting tactic since about his 3rd or 4th season at USC.

Spurrier turns 70 next year. Everyone knows he's only got a year or two left.

I wish he could coach forever because there are few more entertaining coaches in football, but the ole ball coach is at the end of the line.

But as a new commit of ours said recently, he learned that kids should commit to a school more than a coach. So if Scott is smart about it, that Spurrier leaving or not shouldn't shouldn't be the main factor in his decision.

if this board, or any other message board, were limited to those who truly bring something of value, there would be about 10 people on the board.

You are speaking for the Florida boards (10 people) not a Vol board. I really don't understand why you don't troll on the Miami or FSU boards or even the Georgia or USCe boards. Anyone that spends the amount of time that you do on a rival fan board is either a troll or are not wanted on their own board and have been banned for being stupid. JMO

There is some smoke for the scott isn't a take for florida info we were seeing here over the weekend. I find that very believeable

oh, i was trolling was i?

i wouldn't happen to have been absolutely correct in my assessment of dooley's recruiting classes would i?

have i said one negative thing about the recruiting of butch jones?

have i said one negative thing about butch jones at all?

you don't have to pretend, bring back kermit.
Yes, you were dead on about Dooley, as was a minority of posters in this forum, and the homers hated it.

Scott is a special talent. No way Florida is turning him away.

If Florida is indeed leaking that he isn't a take, then you can bet they know they're not getting him, following his OV there.

You might be correct but they are recruiting another highly thought of RB.

It's plenty reasonable to think they might only take one of them

Didn't we "offer" sawyer a week ago and now reports are he isn't a take??

Happens all the time for back up plans

I doubt it's that Sawyer isn't a take, but more that they can tell he isn't that interested in UT so they don't see the point in investing a lot of time and effort on him. They may not totally stop recruiting him, but they can see the writing on the wall.

Who cares whether this guy is a take for Florida?? Completely irrelevant at this point.

It's down to two schools and we have a great shot at landing him. Personally, I'm glad we survived Florida and made it this far. I'm starting to really like our chances here!

Vol!!

Been confident for about a month now!

let me tell you about how i feel about recruiting real quick because all this troll stuff makes me laugh.

look at the top 10 classes in a given year and odds are 5 of the teams in the top 10 are on florida's schedule.

i am concerned about a few kids that most believe are "can't miss". and even some of that doesn't pan out.

but, other than that, i just care about my school getting their share because when you play the sec schedule plus florida state, you aren't going to generally out-talent people anyway.

So I'm guessing the only point your making is the gators have been out coached.

I hope we don't bring up the age of Spurrier. It seems obvious he won't be there in 4 years and we don't want his parents to get the impression we are negative recruiting, imo.

I agree.

Butch should take the high road and be nice. He should leave a walker at Scott's house and tell em it's for his next visitor. :)

I don't have anyone on ignore. I use my brain as a filter. It's useless anyway because when the ignored post gets quoted it shows up.

Is Scott a silent?

"I don't believe Scott is a silent commitment and only time will tell if they survive the Spurrier in-home. But, going into the in-home visits this week Tennessee is in good position."

I like Butch's chance of winning the in homes, but for some reason I have this bad feeling Scott ends up at South Carolina.

Logic just seems to say USC here.
