@PeteScantlebury: #Mizzou commit Trevon Walters on if the Tennessee offer changes things: "No! Can you let everyone know I'm still Mizzou bound?"

On Trevon Walters...

Some of you have asked about Trevon who tweeted this morning about picking up an offer from Tennessee. That offer actually came about two weeks ago.

He said he's firm to Missouri and won't take any more visits. He just wanted to report the offer to update his profile.

Alternate theory: maybe trying to force Scott's hand?

This crossed my mind...make the offer the day before you are set to go in-home with him and his family. As the visit ends, ask him if they can count him as a part of this class or do they need to recruit this other guy that wants to be a part of this class. Would be genius, if it works. Would be stupid, if it pushed him to USCe. :)

Would be, dare I say, a big get. A bigger get than Powell, and I love NC inroads.

cannot wait to see this cat in action. Hurd, Paulk, Scott... each has their own strengths... will be a great haul.

I hope we don't bring up the age of Spurrier. It seems obvious he won't be there in 4 years and we don't want his parents to get the impression we are negative recruiting, imo.

Pretty sure this staff does not do any of that...all UT positive recruiting from all reports

All of the CB's until Jan have been for SC. Since then, 5 of the past 8 have been for UT. I find that interesting.

If you think UT doesn't negatively recruit against other schools, then you are crazy. Im not saying our coaches work it to the extent of Meyer or Tubberville, but to some extent, every coach explains why their school is better than the other schools.

Not sure you know the definition of "negative recruiting"...pumping up your school over others is positive...saying don't go to Columbia because Spurrier answers a goldfish bowl when the phone rings....is negative

Yes this is true, but saying you shouldn't go to USC because spurrier will be gone in a few years is negative. Showing a USC depth chart would be negative recruiting. Explaining that they will have a dropoff in talent/coaching and we wouldn't is negative recruiting. IMO 80% of the time, if a coach mentions another school, it involves negative recruiting. Obviously I'm no D-1 athlete so this is pure speculation.
