'14 SC DT Poona Ford

I just want Poona to find the right fit for HIM, wherever that may be. In my opinion I agree with Poona at this moment as to which school is best for him. If Poona would choose UT I would wear alot of orange. If he doesn't, I would still follow UT because I think butch jones is a great coach.

We all agree that UT is the best fit for him, too! :)

If I was a defensive tackle, it would be a no brainer going to UT.. They have every single thing u would want in a big time school, with a great opportunity for PT early with couch and big Mc graduating

Try being objective- can u think of a reason a big time dlineman shouldn't go to UT? I really can't think of a reason... Unless u just don't like competing against the best.

That logic doesn't ways hold water. Same as all the top RBs going to Bama. Talent wants to play with other talent, not be the only talent on the roster. The best DTs want to play with the best DEs, not go to a school where they will be double teamed every play and never get to show off their skills. Same reason a CB doesn't want to be the only good CB, etc...

Danny Obrien, Jason Carr, etc..?? Do u think ur on a vandy board or something? This is UT.. The depth chart won't be so easy to get into for very long

Players with pride want to be the standard bearers...every position on the team is crying for a face...Jalen, Todd, Vic, Coleman, Zeus....jump while the jumping's good to be a latter day Reggie White Dale Jones Tim McGee...Peyton Manning...somebody wants it (no homo)...is it you young man?

Lol the "etc" is a little exaggerated. That's about it, and none of them are proven. It's a huge need for us next year. How many DL have we put into the league in the last 5 years? Elite players care about the paycheck, and playing with elite teammates is a great way to do that. It's about the $$$. We need Couch and McCullers to do very well this year and get drafted high, that's what will make UT attractive to DTs, not highly rated but unproven high school players. Until we have some DL prove themselves on Saturdays, DL will want to go where other DL are proving themselves.

The names you mentioned... Instate, legacy, legacy, and 2 OL, which is an excellent position for UT right now, everyone knows we have 5 NFL OL on our team, that's why good OL want to come here.

The ones you mentioned are strong with us...the ones I'm talking toward...defensive line players considering us..aren't...I'm talking selling points on why to join the new movement in Knoxville...be a face of Tennessee football lore...I don't think I was evaluating our offensive line

Has no one noticed this?

Wherever that may be....as in he hasn't signed who knows what next 18 months will bring. Don't look into that comment. UT has huge lead. And here is one key thing missing when someone said UT hasn't had many Dlineman drafted in past 5 years...that may be right...BUT how many has Stripling had drafted while he was at cincy? a Butch jones recruit at Central Michigan was just the number one overall pick. Someone made an interesting point to me last week in regards to SC. Spurrier is suppose to be a QB guru. Can anyone name a dominant Qb that he has made at SC during his time there? One that has been drafted? I'm not knocking, I just couldn't think of one. He's been there long enough now to have developed one and to my knowledge it hasn't happened.

2 DL First Round draft picks in the past 5 years, 3 in the past 6 years. Not bad for a program struggling through multiple coaching changes.

I am liking where this is going. It is good to see that recruits are looking at this coaching staff's success at other places. That will help us over the next couple of years as Butch and company build the foundation on Rocky Top for something great.
