'14 TN ATH Vic Wharton (UT Signee 2/5/14)

What are the berry twins times compared to Vic's ?

evan is about the same.usually in the 10.7s He ran alot slower time last yr when he won state but it had been raining and was a miserable day. He did run under 10.6 in a sectional once in 2013. we def upgraded our speed. a few of these kids can flat fly. Both Berrys can run. their 4x100 team ran something like 41.68 sec

Saw where Wharton just won the Sea Rays with a 200m time of 21.6 fastest time in the state this year. Wow Just how fast is this kid????

Butch keeps saying in PC's and radio that 16/18 of freshman coming in are on D. Paulk and Scott are clearly O. Is Butch off one or two or is Vic playing D?

I stated awhile back in this thread I think he ends up a db and our kick off and put return man. I think he will make a great corner.

Someone on VQ asked about what Butch said in the presser saying 16/18 freshman would be on D. Wharton to CB?

He said he was just counting off the top his head. I would be very surprised if Wharton didn't start out at receiver. I think that's by far his best position.

So, how's the Internet service in Thailand?

Not too bad. Tech is always getting better. My advertised speed is 10MB per second, but it rarely tests that high. I have some issues streaming most sporting events. There was a perfect stream for TN last year through justin.tv, but they cracked down, and the guy's new stream on another provider does not work as well for me when I watched the basketball tournament.

I believe that Vic will become one of my favorite players and probably the favorite of many Vol fans. His VFL attitude is a great attribute. I look for his return ability to earn him AA status as a special teams player. Receiver abilities and reverse play running will help him too.

Congrats on the big day for this young man. The 1st brick in the foundation for the 2014 class. Kid put in some serious work helping the coaches land that group of kids.

I actually gave you a like haha. I'm excited for Vic and this class and I agree with you totally on this.

"It's crazy to know this class was put together just like I imagined it," Wharton said before enrolling at Tennessee last week. "A top-5 class with all these guys and I was the first one and then talking to TK and talking to all the guys and setting it up and now they are all there."

"I think it will really help out. I've really gotten stronger and I think that will help with my speed, just to be able to push through and with the quickness on top of that, too. I think it will help on the field as well, "Wharton added.

Funniest or craziest thing that happened during your recruitment?

"Probably when I first met D'Andre Payne on a visit. All weekend he was trying to figure out how he knew me and then we figured it out that we used to run track when we were little. He even remembered that I wore glasses."

What was the lightbulb moment that you knew Tennessee was the place for you?

"It was when coach Jones got the job. I always loved Tennessee, but coach Dooley didn't do a good job of recruiting me and coach Jones did a good job of recruiting me at Cincinnati and when he got the job that was it for me."
