'14 TN ATH Vic Wharton (UT Signee 2/5/14)

All I can say is wow! I'm so glad Dooley hired Sal, and flopped, or our program would be in dire straits for the next 10 years!

195 is pretty impressive. With Pig, Ryan, and Von though, I just don't seem him getting too many snaps as a freshman. Maybe he lands the return man spot?

I think he has a good shot... We finally have some good options in the return game

What's wrong with Carter fair catching every time?

I'm not to the point of complaining about return men...we're not far enough removed from Dooley's first year where we literally had no one to put back there.

You're right though, can't wait for some speed there again. Other than CP, it's been a while.

I really wish butch could've had a year with CP.

I just wish we had a defense the year CP was here. We lost to UGA and Carolina by an average of 5 Pts. Should have won the mizzou game. That one was brutal btw. A middle of the road SEC D and we would have had a good year. That yr we were Statistically what TAMUs Defense was last yr. It was awful.

Luckily we chose to play for overtime against Mizzou.

Holy crap I'm glad Dooley is gone. Let's change the subject.

Cam could see some time in the return game, no?

Don't forget MSU. We should have had that one too.

Sutton? I wouldn't think so, for safety reasons and he doesn't strike me as lightning quick. With all the (arguably) better or equal options, why risk your best CB?

I seem to remember some chatter that he would be just as good as a WR if we switched him around.

We do have other good, "not-as-essential" playmakers, which is why Vic makes sense, amongst others. But I don't love that argument IF Sutton were far and away our best option. He may not be.

I remember reading in the Spring on VQ that he housed a 70 yard punt return and it was live. He has the ability to perform at a high level there, IMO.

However, Patrick Peterson, Honeybadger, Javier Arenas, and others have done it. I think Cam is on those guys' level, except for Peterson.

Wow, I had no idea. Guess I have quite the eye for that kind of thing haha. I still don't think we have enough depth to risk our #1 CB unless he's far and away the best.

This x1000000!! Didn't at one point we stopped putting anyone back there, because of so many muffs? Seems like I remember one game we did that.

Agree. We should have other viable contenders.

Moseley, Evan Berry, DY, Malone

We could have gone 8-4 or 9-3 easily Dooley's last year. As I said, I'm glad the Sal experiment was a flop. I don't want to imagine where our program would be in the future, after hearing all of the recruiting stories of Dooley's lackluster efforts.
