'14 TN DB Rashaan Gaulden (UT Signee 2/5/14)

I'll stick by it. In person coaching against guys this season the two most impressive people I saw (including 7v7) are Gaulden & Brant Mitchell.

This is what a football player should look like imo.

I agree with everything stated about this kid. We are going to be stacked with a lot of hard hitting trackers on "d" over the next few years. No more arm tackling!

Any upcoming freshmen or sophomores we should keep an eye on?

In going to be interested to see where eveyone ends up position wise. Gaulden is a stud at Saftey. I could see Kelly Jr or McDowell potentially growing into LB. McDowell more so since he has mentioned in past that it was an option that has been tossed around based on his build.

This dude has superstar written all over him.

So now you have to had played 4 years to be a 5 star prospect lol i thought the star rating was about projecting kids to the next level not rating their high school performance.

Everytime i read crap from these scouting sites it makes me glad i no longer pay for any of their info

i agree. this kid is incredibly underrated on 247. I wont even mention ESPN bc we all know.

"It was a good experience; I feel like every time I come up here we bond even more," said Gaulden, an All-State performer and teammate of fellow Vols commitment Vic Wharton at Independence High School. "It was really good to see all the parents and coaches' wives. Just really gelled together and we all have a great relationship. That's kind of stuff that puts the nail in the coffin, when everybody gets along. We've all got good relationships with one another."

"We just chilled and just enjoyed different activities at his house. It's just a great experience letting him welcome us into his home. We hung out and had a great time," said Gaulden, a 6-foot-1, 180-pounder known as a fierce, fearless hitter. "That was nice, going out (Sunday) morning. I got a chance to drive the boat, so that was fun. We ate a lot. It felt like every three hours we were just eating a legit full meal. I'm not complaining about that though."

"I've just been in weight room with Vic heavy. He's gaining a lot of weight, and I'm starting to add on some pounds," Gaulden told VolQuest.com. "The biggest thing I'm starting to work on is weight. Don't let that hold me back. I'd definitely like to get bigger so that when I'm facing bigger backs like a Todd Gurley or Derrick Henry, I'll be able to provide some licks on them."

So much win in this kid. It's statements like this that get me excited to watch our freshman next year. This kid is fearless and confident. He is going to be a mauler at either SS or Nickel. Wherever he plays his presence will be felt on the field

"Hey Rashaan, its your boy Vic Wharton.
Don't listen to that poon Jalen Ramsey.
Clearly to UT you're much more important.
You and I both know he's a little pansey.
When you said Sunseri, you heard a "who" like Horton
That dumb*** couldn't even stop Vandy
Buffalo Wild Wings is the only thing he's courtin'
With a side of gravy and some pecan sandies,
So come to Rocky Top and where your talents won't be shortin'
And mop up the SEC like you're using a shammie"

*Drops Mic*

He must have heard my rhymes. Come see me Thig
