'14 TN DB Rashaan Gaulden (UT Signee 2/5/14)

I know it has been discussed, but offseasons are boring. Where will Rashaan start out at? I love his versatility.

I think he'll be a killer on STs early on like JRM was last year. Ultimately, I think Kelly takes over at the other safety spot beside Randolph. I think Gaulden is just too damn good to keep off the field. He'll be pushing Coleman at NB and will probably split reps with him there.

Freshman season though, Gaulden's biggest contribution will be on STs.

In the long run? No... He'll eventually move to safety full time. I think Cam and Evan will be our CBs for the next couple of seasons

Don't sleep on Moseley at CB either.

In my wildly unprofessional opinion, I think Randolph slides to SS, Kelly takes FS.

Cortez and Gaulden duke it out for SS.

I think he could excel at any spot in the secondary. It will be interesting to see where he ends up since we signed quality players at every secondary position last year.

Thats where im guessing he starts out, bc of his size and cbj wanting bigger corners, also i think the fact UT got 2 very good safetys helps put RG at corner a better possibly, where we need help.....IMO of course......

I'm honestly not sure. I don't want to throw names at the wall and hope it sticks. They are all talented and could all be used in some capacity.

I agree. It wouldn't surprise me to see one or maybe two take a redshirt since we signed six DB's, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they all found some way to get on the field.

Hopefully between Gaulden and TKjr they can push McNeil to get better. Having these guys here to compete will be the best thing for McNeil and our secondary.

They will either push him to compete and get better, or pass him by on the depth chart and he will end up transferring elsewhere. The last scenario frees up another spot for the 2015 class.

Pretty excited about watching these guys all develop as players over the next few years.

Nickel starter Day 1 IMO.

Far more likely to beat out McNeil than Coleman but several of the Fr will get significant PT... not out of necessity IMO but because they're that talented. The coaches will have an opportunity to feed them a little at a time by preparing them for and playing them for situational packages.

Swafford will likely continue to be more of a factor than many want to believe. What he lacks in physical ability, he seems to make up for with football intelligence and effort.
